Talking of "Battle of Britain" made me think about film themes. I like almost anything ever written by Ron Goodwin.
I also like lots of the big war film themes, such as John Addison's "A Bridge Too Far",

Anything that doesn't involve comedy romance, pregnancy or someone's relationship with their fking father could in theory have merit.

Right, in that case American Beauty and District 9 spring to mind. (If I'd actually have read your OP I guess I wouldn't have made that mistake... getmecoat)

Jabba la Prescott, who only entered politics after Les Dawson died and his work as a stunt double dried up.

pesty - it's citta violenta / the family according to wiki. i have the track as part of an obscure psychedaelia compilation.

i thought the thread was more original scores than soundtracks? i'll be here all day if we can pick from the latter.

i'll cheat slightly with a foot in both camps though - the who's "tommy". best bit for me has to be jack nicholson and ollie reed duetting in the doctor's office.
