Westworld (NO SPOILERS)
Discussion
First pictures released of the new HBO series based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie.
Am seriously looking forward to this.
For those not familiar with this movie, here it's trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvGfXhwI2Pw

Not sure about this. It's a great film which doesn't need remaking IMO, but then HBO do tend to do some good stuff.
Correct, leave the original in all its 70's low resolution glory. Not sure about this. It's a great film which doesn't need remaking IMO, but then HBO do tend to do some good stuff.

I love the movie and may have been cautious about a series but seeing as it is HBO I think it'd be worth a go. Yul Brynner hard act to follow though!
If anyone is upto the task it's Ed Harris. Perfect casting. Not heard about this before reading the thread but just jumped to the top of my must watch list when you look at the talent involved.

Same here. Never heard of it but reading briefly about it it's got to be a must watch. Can't wait.Jonathon Nolan said:

Looks like it may have been pushed back to early 2016 due to some cast changes etc.

The original film was remarkably good and Yul Brynner's Gunslinger surely a template for The Terminator.
This is where both Abrams and Nolan are at the moment:

I wonder if they're going to wrap this up first, which would explain a delay in Westworld or run the shows in parallel ?

It may be because JJ Abrams and Christopher Nolan are still very much involved in Season 5 of Person of Interest which has been delayed. Initially it was to start late 2015 but was then put back until Spring 2016 and now looks like being sometime in June. It is only half a season though and expected to be the final season, unless another Network picks it up...
