King of Bots looks like the Chinese version of Battlebots, it's a bit like the earlier series of battle bots with lots of presenter "filler". Appears to have a good mix of both home and international teams, along with some recognizable faces from Robot wars and Battlebots. Has one of the guys from team Razor on the judging panel.

Haven't got a clue whats been said in the commentary, but there are a few occasional English words.

Quite a lot of the bots, and fights, are amazing though if you can get past the terribleness of Chinese TV. 'This is fighting robots' is even weirder. It's like a combination of Battlebots and Xfactor with an infinite set budget.

That Chinese one is nuts! From the robots either fantastic but out of control to just completely weird giant blue horses to the builders being anything from 2 hot girls to a team of OAP Chinese Super Mario characters.

I for one can't wait for China to take over the world because we need some lunacy injected into our culture.

I like the arena though, spike on the walls are a good touch straight from the mind of a 9 year old and that's what fighting robots should be. Glad to see flying robots but they are ultimately a waste of time unless they turn into Japanese flying robots because they obviously have a history of being effective, once.

Battlebots 8 https://youtu.be/XSHFcNdApZU

And there are 8 episodes of the Chinese series, King of Bots. I've watched the second one tonight, the fights in the middle of the show are a bit early Robot Wars, but other than that there are some good robots and good fights (2 multibots vs 3 multibots, a flipper with John Reid from Beta / Terrorhurtz / Killerhurtz )

Another good episode, only skipped odd bits. Looked like the main event they were trying to use the same transmitter frequency, bit of a shame.

Shame about the Bronco/Lockjaw fight. Could have been great if they both worked. This weeks got a couple of good ones - HUGE vs Chomp and Icewave/Scorpio.

Aye the chump battle was a good one! Disagree with the final match of ep8 though.

BB is back, this one is a desperado tournament. 8 bots that have had a bad run against each other, the winner goes into the last 16.

Disapointed by the semifinal for me, yes the winners are the correct bots, dont want to spoil it, but you have to make a bot that last the fight! The forces in some of the fights are hard to manufacture and keep in the weight limit!

It was a great episode again. Shame the format favoured the bigger budgets. Lockjacks team is massive and they have two complete bots plus tons of spares so they were always going to be at 100% every fight. Might have been a different outcome with a full functional Lucky or a more tattered Lockjaw. Also disappointed that it wasn't Gigabyte - very entertaining bot when they stay right side up.

If you made a round bot (Ball) made of three inch thick rubber with some sort of internal weight motion movement system.
How would that fair against a kinetic energy rotating weapon. It might shoot it around the arena but may not damage it.

Or a turtle like bot with six inch thick rubber covering. Absorb the energy into the covering?

Or sacrificial ceramic armour? Layers upon layers like a russian doll?

Do the rules allow hamsters to compete?

Back in the early days of RW, there was Psychosprout. A fibreglass ball with a Tamiya RC car inside hehe

How would the invincible rubber ball damage other bots? I suspect most of the big spinners would rip lumps out of it anyway.
