I concede that episode was better than I expected. The security bike shed guy was an ADHD fruitcake - good in the workshop but an absolute nightmare as a businessman; didn't have a clue.
The young couple of boys with 'pouch' were good although I don't like products like that (have to download into your browser); will appeal to women more than men I suspect. Get mumsnet on board and it'll probably make a load of money.

I like the idea of Pouch but as stated above, could easily be replicated.
The five-a-side guy, his issue with HMRC was clearly scripted and known to the Dragons, I rather thought they (or the producers) hung him out to dry a tad there. All that bullst about "I would have invested if you'd just been up front about it" ... no they wouldn't, he was included for dramtic effect only.

How do you know that to be a fact?I mean... I know the lift isn't a lift... but couldn't be sure his details were known to the dragons.
This is quite interesting (if you're nosey and you like that sort of thing) ... https://www.tigermobiles.com/dragons-den/

Pouch had no protection anyone could get it coded and out ...
You can't protect tech IP in the UK. I read an interesting article on this a few years ago. Essentially, the view is that if you could protect IP noone would ever develop anything for fear of being sued by someone that had already protected something similar, so it would stifle creativity and innovation. Of course, inability to protect one's IP can discourage people from developing things for fear of it being stolen. In reality this doesn't seem to out people off though.PurpleTurtle said:

It could, but this doesn't seem to put people off. If everyone who had an idea refrained from developing it because if could easily be replicated then there'd be very few apps out there and some that have made it big would never have existed. I'm part of a team developing something at the moment and someone we've had advice from thinks you shouldn't worry too much about this. It's more likely, if you come up with something really great and it gets enough traction to appear on the radar of the big players, that one of them will buy it and continue developing it themselves rather than start from scratch replicating it. He's been on teams developing a number of apps which have had precisely this experience - it's not necessarily about being the next Mark Zuckerberg, more developing something that Facebook, Google, etc. might want to buy from you once it's started to blossom. As above, it's not about protecting the code. Code itself does not make a company successful, it's only half the battle - probably not even half tbh. Most of the battle is the industry knowledge, commercial connections, friends in high places, marketing effectiveness, cashflow, etc. It's much, MUCH harder to replicate these things successfully.
