Ah , that explains why the likes of Bill Gates have sadly been unable to enjoy the fruits of their endeavours ...

You can.

I assume you mean the guy with the champagne stopper? I agree with you.

Another example of someone who got carried away with his own conviction, and ignored reality. How the feck did he spend £2m on development?

18 month old online wool shop worth £500k jog on - any Dragon could start that business for the price of a website, some wool and a few saddo knitters. Madness.

I got the impression from the guy that he probably still carried on living as before (holidays, played golf etc) all funded by the other investor's £2m and at the same time develops the product as 'his job', that's a huge generalisation I know but that's the feeling I got.
You get some people go on there who remortgage their house or live on a bowl of cereal a day etc all the time they're developing the idea. This guy had such a level of arrogance about him, he never came across as hungry to get an investment, more like he was doing them a favour for offering it to them.

Most of the money went on champagne, claimed he needed a fresh bottle each time he made a modification to the stopper design. drinkhehe

Can't understand why anyone would apply to the programme if they haven't got their "invention" firmly covered by a patent, the Chinese could usually copy it in a week.

Hmmmm, not sure if you're being serious or not? The Chinese have never taken any notice about patents!
