Really enjoyed this. Very nicely done and a good mix of old school fantasy and action.
It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting. Probably 6/10.
I quite enjoyed this too, better than most of the latest Netflix film content put out recently.
Yep, I enjoyed this too. Solid 7/10 from me.

(Is it okay to perv over MBB now?)
Another "better than we thought it would be" from us - put it on as something that didn't require much brainpower to watch and were watching until the end.
Solid 7/10.

Turning point The bomb and the cold war , 9 parts long , interesting event FSB officers working for Putin caught trying to blow up a citizen block of flats in Moscow,

same thing happened at Domodedova airport , bombing blamed on Chechnya in 2011 , We used to fly in on the London flight - Moscow for work then transit flight to Surgut , we were told by our security head who was ex FSB , not to fly in or out from 20 Jan , on Jan 24th a bomb went off in the International arrivals hall 37 people were killed.

It was blamed on the Chechnian rebels

I was trying to enjoy the WWII docu series - and although there are some interesting bits and the footage looks good - there something not quite hitting the mark.

Given that this is Netflix has it perhaps been dumbed down?

Most of the good, and more detailed, stuff on WW2, is now on Youtube.

Just finished “The signal” only four episodes about an astronaut on the ISS, interesting twist at the end.

We started this last night and both thought the same thing, it's not her as such as she's actually acting very well in it, but what we are struggling with is, they didn't seem to really clock that well on their 'One Day'. So the chemistry/attraction feels a bit fake, especially considering how much of a womaniser he is portrayed to be. Why would he bother?
Unless you have watched the entire series I can see why you would think the above. Finish it and then see what you think. I struggled at first, but by the end I thought it was the best show I've watched in a long time.
This is an excellent series, really enjoyed it.
We just finished watching this last night - really really good. Only comment is the very odd episode lengths - some less than 20 minutes!

I saw a review somewhere a few years ago for one of them, it just said, 'Guy Ritchie has made his film again.'
hehe

I had the same thought on Monday night when I saw a Netflix trailer for The Gentlemen - showed two visitors sat in a caravan talking to a group of travellers. Said travellers seemed to be glaring intently at the visitors, before forming a huddle to discuss their next move, which they then turned back and put to their guests.

My memory may be at fault, but I've a feeling this was exactly how a scene went in Snatch, with Stephen Graham and Jason Statham looking mildly uncomfortable in the front window seats of a caravan.

Has GR run out of ideas and originality, or is just a case of he knows it will sell so why not keep doing the same stuff?
I think that was a tongue-in-cheek nod to the recurring caravan-traveller based scenario from Snatch.

As a series - it was good.

Just watched the first episode of this tonight, thought it was a good starter. Will watch the rest over the next couple of nights.

Just finished it, I really liked it, a bit different, thought it was going a bit wonky half way through the last episode but pulled it back with the twist at the end. Good length as well at 4 episodes, long enough to pull you in but short enough to hold your interest through out.

I got round to watching the first episode of the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender last night.

Visually stunning, and great SFX. Also, they seem to have chosen the actors well and they are a good fit for the characters.

I don't know what all the fuss was earlier in the thread about the actor playing Sokka looking "weird"; he looks almost exactly like he does in the original animated series. Which, admittedly, was "Westernised Asian" whereas the rest of the cast seem more typically Asian. And on that subject, it's good that they went that way rather than white-washing it. Guess Scarlett Johansson wasn't available. wink

Anyway, I will look forward to watching the rest of the series and will keep my fingers crossed over how true they stay to the original. It's off to a good start though.

Triple 9. Very gritty cop drama with a stellar cast including Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie and a lot more.

Has anyone mentioned Diplomat the series. I've just finished it. Very good. Like House of Cards but better I think.

That's the one.
Watched them all now, not bad and glad they didn't try and drag it out for a longer series.

Not netflix but amazon prime.

American Fiction.

Pushed into my top 5 films, stunning, a cult classic, holds up a mirror and satire at it finest. Layered masterpiece.
