Wheeler Dealers 2014/2015 - New Series

Well I really enjoyed that - have to say I thought I saw badly scored discs which were not changed (but maybe he used that technique to skim them instead).
Also I've never seen disc backing plates needing replacement before but what a change.
Car looked like it had done 162k miles. Some great tips and frankly everything Ed did this time you could try at home.

That intake manifold...what a complex lump that is! I mean, my Celica has variable length intake tracts, as do many Jap cars of that era - they're nothing like as complicated as that though (and they work just as well).
I wouldn't have fitted those coilovers...it's a 911, not a Corsa. A mature owner going through his mid-life crisis won't be interested in them. Waste of money.
Good show though. Really enjoyed that.

Strange that they showed the cutting off of the old exhaust tips and putting the new ones on, but didn't include any work on the terrible seats.
And Ed puts clear indicator lenses on the front but the orange lenses on the back?!!?
Also, I am sure the list of expenditure at the end listed either £840 or £940 for "Polishing and Paint" - what paint? They didn't paint anything, or at least didn't show that they had painted anything.
Would have been interesting seeing what they had done to the wheels too.
The whole crap about the suspension was slightly interesting, but took up too much time.
And why did they show Ed cleaning the bit behind the rear lights? So that if anyone ever takes the lights off again they will know it has been well cared for? Well, the dirt got in there in the 1st place, and it'll get in again pretty quickly probably! No-one gives a st!
Nice result but they showed the wrong bits getting fixed/replaced and spent too long doing it. Not one of my favorite episodes.

Still the best car related show on TV IMO. How can a programme that take a classic sports car, fixes it up, takes it for a blat or two over great roads and then sells it for a profit be bad? I know there's a bit of poetic licence going on ( work done you don't see, labour costs, sellers too willing to give a discount, non genuine buyers etc) but it's a TV show and long may it be on air.

not Porsche expert, but is there not some sort of rubber bellows to cover the mechanicals of the lift up rear spoiler?
I was wondering that, too. It looked a bit dirty and worn. Inside the wheel arches looked a bit shocking as well. And why would they put clear indicator lenses on?! Still really enjoyed it, though.eastlmark said:

Seems like there should be a cover... http://p-car.com/diy/spoilerdrive/

What was wrong with the new suspension?
I just dont think it was fitting of the car they were working on. I would definitely much rather have a 993 with standard suspension parts. Fitting those coilovers just seems a bit "boy racer" to me. Solid topmounts on a road car like that might be a tad harsh.
Really enjoyed this episode as they actually showed some mechanical bits being done. Car looked great when done.

Anyone know the road number in Yorkshire it looked great to drive and visit.
That bit was the Buttertubs pass, not sure of the road number. Goes from just out of Hawes. Its not that long but easy to make up a route round there - have a look for settle, kirby stephen, sedbergh, kirky lonsdale or Hartside if you want a bit further afield. Not called gods own county for nowt !

So it was just a PH snobbery type comment.
Cool thanks
Snobbery comment? I nearly pointed out that I didn't like the suspention they put on the car and then subsequently said I would prefer it if they left the car original. Does that make me a snob? If so how? Or are you just the type that trawl the forums looking for arguments?Cool thanks
