He used to just let the people hang themselves, innocently play dumb and prod them a little.

I think he was portraying how this group of people operate - that how they describe them selves and how they act and speak are two different things. It is a carefully managed persona.

That means his approach had to be different than with the WBC or the old neo nazi groups he would follow - those people were strident in their views, would stand on the street with placards and get swastika tattoos. You can just put and on film and show it to the world.

It was interesting how insecure they were and how quick to turn abusive and threatening. The rape threats from beardy were genuinely chilling though, it was clear then that he is very disturbed.

What does full woke questioning mean? These guys are very careful in how they portray themselves, and try to blur the lines about being racist, and having far right beliefs.

If he just let them waffle on it would provide the same stuff you can find on their socials. He needs to call them out and make them uncomfortable. Thats when the mask slips and you see the real person.

I'm not sure what was wrong with it. He basically just did what you said - let them hang themselves. They just seemed to be a bunch of babies that wanted to blame other people for their shortcomings. I did laugh at the "My country is better than yours and I'm better than you etc" bloke. The extent of the misogyny and the "gamer" content struck me. I can understand the first of those but what's with the gamer thing? Is that about people that cant relate to the real world and want to live in some sort of fake alternative?

Watched this last night, I’m sure all countries have their weirdos but the US really does well in this regard, Olympic level nutters. As a previous poster described, they’re like a bunch of bed wetting virgins, almost school boy in their mannerisms, language, blame and outlook. Surprised they can get away walking around Tampa spouting their crap without getting a fat lip for their troubles.

The gamer aspect confused me a bit though, didn’t really realise gamers saw themselves as a sub culture, I thought gaming was hammering Gran Tourismo or COD now and again.

I know what Chris is getting at, I think. Louis was always remarkable for never having to tell the viewer explicitly what he was thinking. You were left to decide for yourself that you thought you were watching a nutter giving a Nazi salute. In losing that he still ends up with a good documentary, but there was a powerful, unspoken aesthetic that wasn’t there this time. To some extent perhaps necessarily so in this case because to have some of the things they were saying go unchallenged probably wouldn’t have felt right.

There's loads of subcultures on the web, gaming has it's own within cultures, wonder if Loius knows about Furries.
Because it's the web all of them have no communication skills beyond the foulest language and little pictures and everything is 'ironic' (sic).

These people were awful, as one posters said, not even sure some of them believed their nonsense. I got the impression they wanted to be famous, stars. Youtube gives access to the sort of that to people who couldn't even get on American TV, even they can get viewers.
The main one, forget name, he has no knowledge, skill, creativity or tits'n'ass, so he goes the extremest route, and because everyone uses hyperbole to get clicks he has to be the extremist of the extreme.
These people who grew up on the web, no wonder the West is on a slide.

Just watching this now; certainly eye opening.

It’s pretty bonkers listening to these relatively young people spouting the st that they are. They definitely come across as incels. Using gay as an insult pretty much sums them up. Certainly makes you think differently about your kids playing Fortnite and the kiwi where some of these chumps seem to meet.
