Can't believe nobody has noticed all of the unmarked cars were a hot hatch/estate of some variety (Leon Cupra, Golf R & Audi S-something!)

PH standards are slipping.

That lad who lost his leg actually very lucky wasn't he - seeing the steering wheel still on the bridge was a shocker.

I posted in the unmarked thread, what a time to be a traffic cop in Derbyshire, Golf R, Nardo S3 and a cupra 300, looked like a tasty Volvo S40 too. Makes chasing the crims a bit more bearable.

Shocked at that accident, lucky to get away with his life, never seen an engine thrown that far or a steering wheel being snapped off, terrible for the family

I suspect he'd been doing something he shouldn't have, cars just don't fall off the road like that. The Police probably thought he'd been through enough to teach him not to do whatever it was ever again. Anyone make out what car it was? The only clue I could see was the VW badge on the steering wheel.

Can someone explain why the woman who crashed into the barriers was awarded 8 points on her licence? She blew under so was not drink driving and wasn't banned. Leaving the scene of an accident when no-one was injured seems relatively minor. The other stuff about having her car stolen etc. and potential PtCoJ is not a motoring offence? i don't recall a measure of honesty when I did my driving test.

A quick google suggests leaving the scene of an accident is between 5-10 points so guess its that. We called it as soon as she said it wasnt her smile

I am both educated and surprised. The guy that rolled back into my son's car causing a couple of hundred quids worth of damage and then fled got away lightly then. I would have thought that the police would be keener to pursue a 5-10 pointer than a 3 point speeding ticket, but apparently not frown

If you like these sorts of programs check out The Met Policing London on Iplayer, good mix between TC/Interceptors and 24 hours in custody

Yep, utterly pathetic. “Half the country hates you”. Policeman says as he drives off, “bit harsh, I was hoping more like 25%” hehe

Peter seemed like a nice chap. Not the best at placing his Sat Nav though...

I imagine the extra nine points on his license will mean he'll shortly be walking on the footpath instead.

Sounds like most of the s got nothing though - they were all “currently being investigated” and st like that at the end. None of those low scum would have paid a bean

Been catching a few episodes of this while stuck indoors. Some of the officers could really do with lessons on how NOT to escalate a situation laugh

Likewise, have seen a couple of episodes over the past week and the Alex bloke stands out, it’s as if he turned up for his first day and someone gave him a job as a traffic officer.

To be fair being a police officer and dealing with the people they do mean it is not a job I could do.

As an ex copper, that Alex bloke is the sort of person I would hate to have been crewed with.
Having said that most traffic officers have a similar personality i.e None

Alex was the guy I had in mind when I posted laugh

And yeah there are so many idiots they have to deal with that are unavoidably aggressive, I am sure patience wears thin very quickly. But that makes me wonder all the more why they dont have a better grip of deescalating some of those situations, a lot of whats on the show doesnt need to go the way it does with some officers absolutely rising to the bait. I suppose that is something that comes more naturally to some than others.

Some years ago, when Road Wars was a thing we were all asked if we wanted to take part, as they have to have your approval to show you on screen. From my experience most of the ‘normal’ cops declined.

So these cop shows do tend to attract a certain type of police officer, who aren’t always the best at de-escalating situations. At the end of the day who wants to show a police series where 95% of time an officer talks a situation down with excellent communication skills?
