The 2 people suspected of being in the Ford Focus, surely something relating to the ownership of the car or evidence in the car, should have been enough for an arrest.

No arrest for that kind offence, seems nonsensical, or did they just question the wrong people.

A new series (13) started tonight, my Sky box didn't bother to series link but I just caught it when it started.

At the time of writing my Sky planner can't find any other showings of episode 1, it's not on the catch up listing for Channel 5 and bizarrely the time slot next week is taken up by "Winter on the Farm" so I've no idea where episode 2 is.

Hopefully it'll sort itself out.

It's now showing in the Android app at least. Which force was it this time? I prefer the NY ones as they spend a lot of time around my home town and roads I know but they tend to alternate.

Not listed for next Monday, the 8pm slot is something about a farm with Helen Skelton and the episode later that night is series 9.

It's back on the 18th i believe. Next week is a break as C5 are running their "Winter On The Farm" series at 8PM all week. After the 18th it then goes on hiatus again for 2 weeks for the Christmas / New Year period returning January 8th (at least that appears to be the current setup on the Christmas TV guides).

Nothing special this week, just a few annoying drunk drivers who thought it'd help to kick off when caught.

Next week it's on Wednesday.

The production company seem to have invested in an automatic blurring machine for this series (or given the work experience guy too much caffeine).

The constant blurring of anything with words/numbers/faces outside of the vehicle was really annoying.

As you said, was all a bit tame but I presumed it was timed to coincide with the annual push against drunk driving over the festive period.

Along with the blurring, nearly all these police/emergency/car pound programmes now muffle all the voices of the callers, call handlers and workers. irked

Used to be those not convicted, but the courts backlog seems to be longer than the series, so it's frequently 'under investigation'.

I was refer to the blurring of every numberplate, shopfront signage, numberplates and anything with words and numbers from the in car footage of the white Mercedes chase.

The guy who was a bit attitude in the police car and was dragged out and sat on by about 8 police, I mean when you see that its not hugely different to George Floyd and this is the UK.
The optics of that stop is that had the perp been a black guy, well you can imagine.

The key thing with the police is if you give them any excuse to kick off, they will, how quick they were to spraying mace, crazy.

No sympathy for a drink driver but the guy wasn't really kicking off, just a bit mouthy.
I've seen one where a drunk guy (just walking) was manhandled and took 4 officers to put him on the floor, back of the van, wasted hours of man power, and obviously the worst offence he did was drunk disorderly, night in cells home next day no charges....
Just seems the police are crap with drunk people and those they assume are drunk.
I was in a manic episode over a decade ago and 5 police manhandled me into a van, doing that thing where they nearly break your arm so naturally your body resists, then they say 'stop resisting!!'

They always think they are so clever with that. Yes i was mouthy of course, but they get me back to station where I explain I'm not drunk and i have bi polar, so they sit me in cell with a guy sat outside because they tell me I'm going to kill myself, and eventually did me for breach of peace or some rubbish and let me go.

All of that because I said 'its the pigs' when i walked past some police on a night out, when one said i dare you to say that again, of course i did because i was manic, i know it was silly and stupid and I'm an idiot, but surely you should be trained to cope with that word being said.....

^ I've always wondered whether I'd be similar after a few pints - if they told me to get on the floor and it was wet, I could picture that I might object to getting all my clothes dirty for no apparent reason, and perhaps ask if I really had to. In my head that would be done in a good-natured way, but after a few drinks maybe it wouldn't come out that way and they'd all pile in. Fortunately I don't get that drunk, and hardly ever see police around late at night anyway.

They even go as far as blurring out road signs and bleeping over the radio messages if it mentions specific places, it's as if the local tourist boards don't want the bad PR or something smile

I think the phrase is play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Don't be a prick with the police and they wont be a prick with you. It seems you got exactly what you deserved. Maybe in future you might not be a knob taking up precious police resources thinking you are clever.

That's all well and good and i agree, i was an idiot, but they are the professionals with training. Wasting resources on some stupid person daring to say 'pig' near them, we are talking 5 or 6 police plus a van for me and night in cells for no reason other than just because they could, but next day wonder out with nothing as i didn't do anything really worth grabbing me for.

If someone walked past you and called you a 'knob' and your reaction was getting 5 mates to pile into them and doing a citizens arrest and taking them to the station in your mates van, do you think the police there would say your actions were proportionate?

It's the same with speeding or whatever, if I'm over the speed limit by say 10mph on the M1, it should not matter if i have attitude or not, the offence is the offence, you should not 'get off' because you suck balls........
Deal with the offence, if any, not the attitude.

IMO some of the police look for this reaction and that is where their enjoyment comes from, adrenalin is a powerful drug.
