I've sucked better tv shows out of my pet cat's arse.

Watched this on Sky+ so could FFWD through most of it, then promptly deleted the series link from the planner.

Utter utter drivel.

Sort of watched this but was being talked at by the wife.
When I first read that I thought you'd said you were being taken by the wife hehe
She only does that when I'm trying to watch the F1.....

It's a long time ago since I had SU's but, seem to remember they can stick if incorrect oil is used and flood the engine. Mind, I would not be surprised to learn that they did it for effect/drama.
So can Strombergs..........

I'd have stuck triple webbers on it mind you they'd devalue it more.

One overwhelming thing that hit me straight away , if you were buying a car of this nature you would surely budget for a full engine rebuid ? they listed a "piston repair" what was that ? drop an elastoplast down the spark plug hole ???

So how long before the painter dies, Where was his air fed mask????? Think H.S.E. should look into this farcical scripted program and see what other bad practices they employ!!

And to think I turned over from Nigella to watch this!!!!!

Why do companies like Adrian Flux and RM auctions associate themselves with a series that seems to promote bad workmanship. Id be very wary of any valuation
with his name on it, yes i realise its all scripted for tv but why risk your own reputation ?

The only saving grace was that it wasn't a highly desirable E-type they buggered.

Its hardly surprising the show was a complete bag of ste, any man who descrbes what was built on "chop shop" as "designs" and thinks Lepu is talented obviously doesnt have very high standards...... channel 5 shoudl burn the recordings of this programme.. burn them with fire!

Is there a market for a full on restoration programme?

Take a classic such as the E Type and carry out a full bare metal ground up restoration over the entire series.

Start off with how they source the car (15 minutes max) for the first show, rest of first show comparing that model to its competitors of the time and a bit of history on its development

Rest of the series shows a detailed restoration, full engine out and strip down, same with gearbox, suspension etc

The whole thing was utter drivel - embarrassing to the makers, and insulting to their viewers that they think it's good enough to air. Completely scripted, full of obvious errors, and the two chaps managing the resto are utterly devoid of any charisma.

I also pity whoever wins the 'restored' car - it will take a huge amount of work to put it right.

Never mind, watched it once to check it out, won't be bothering again.

This was 'personality' driven nonsense. The vet's stuff is a little too forensic to be truly entertaining for most. Fact is as irritating as Mike Brewer can be on screen, WD probably has the balance about right, even with the smoke & mirrors that PH'ers unearth on many episodes.

Most comical for me; They attack the body with angle grinders to strip the paint. Then show a gorilla with a panel beating hammer, (no dollys, slappers or other tools), randomly hitting parts of the nosecone to repair the angle grinder gouging while fat bald bloke talks about craftmanship of days gone by! Utter ste.
