Sounds a shame for Jamie bell he's one decent role away from some proper recognition. He's quite a good actor IMO
Have you seen him in Nymphomaniac: Vol 2?

Legend

Tom Haryd x2 as the Kray Twins.

Really wanted to like this but Hardy's great performance(s) aside I found it mediocre at best. It was all just very muddled for me, I thought it was pitching itself as violent gangster film but found it more of a black comedy romance. A lot of the story being focused on Reggie's relationship with his wife.

6/10

The Forbidden Empire (Viy is the Russian title) - another potboiler set in the early 18th century apparently a huge success in Russia but I found it a little 'meh', that's not to say bad but just not really good either
That's Ukraine, not Russia.

Watched Desperado again tonight. I love this film. It's silly and has plot holes you could drive a Marvel Helicarrier through but I love the style over substance feel mixed with the Chicano rock soundtrack. And Salma Hayek is just gorgeous in every possible way.

I love this, great fun but the final scene spoils it for me, when it fades to white then IMO it should have simply ended, leaving it open to mystery, but to have that last bit showing that they both made it unscarred just seemed to take something away from it. Still, a classic!

Avengers Age of Ultron.

Jeeze that was bad. Really disappointed. I thought the first film was great fun and a good watch. Anytime it subsequently popped up on Sky Movies I was happy to dip into it again at any time but I would be happy never so see any of this again.

I haven't seen it yet, but I've been pretty wary of Marvel after Iron Man 3 which I felt crossed the line from "fun and just about sort of plausible" to "bloody ridiculous and stupid". I mean, I know they are based on comics and all that, but I can only suspend my disbelief so far.

Apparently the scene originally had some use of the "crotch gun" but it crossed the line into a more severe age classification so they cut it out and went with the "fade to white" scene instead.

I liked the ending but I like things all wrapped up. It is a silly story, so I was happy for a more traditional ending.

I have delayed watching it, but decided to give it a go on Sunday afternoon - I liked it, more of the same, good cgi & humour.

Great way to kill a couple of hours- i think James Spader made it for me though, he has that great sarcastic way of speaking

7/10

Went too far for me too many silly bits. Same old story the action at the beginning already had me disconnected.

Anyway
Man in a ledge.

Sort of heist movie with a difference and what feels like a very contrived ending and a silly one at that.

Sort of ok 6.1/10

Jurassic World – 9/10 such a great remake, lost a bit of its magic in my Livingroom but still an epically good follow up.

Great film, I mentioned it in the last thread.

Been a big fan of Cruddup since 'Almost Famous'.

The BBC feature length "docudrama" about Rockstar and the Grand Theft Autos was on last night. I thought it might be an interesting bit of background to the games and scandals around it. Plus it had Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and the guy from Apollo 13 (Bill Paxton) in so they might have brought some acting gravitas to the production.

But really, it was awful. Despite what could have been a fairly interesting subject matter, and what must have been a fairly big budget it all came across as incredibly shallow, cliched, and totally unengaging. Pretty much all of the characters were completely unsympathetic, their interactions bizarre and the ending, just ended, the computer graphics which were rubbish! Danielle Radcliffe's beard was just awful, but nearly stole the show - that says a lot!

Then I read that it was created with no official consultation with Rockstar either, so despite being only loosely based around real life it still wasn't made the slightest bit exciting! I quite enjoyed "the Social Network" of which there were some parallels, but this was not anywhere near that.

Very poor from the BBC, this came across as some spunky summer work experience project, who somehow was given a big budget which predictably totally failed to deliver. Sadly a waste of 90 mins. 1/10 from me.

I watched Gamechangers....to me it had a first take quality to it. I don't rate Radcliffe, but I love Paxton...I watched to the end though...so something worked there.

Very funny that rockstar wish to sue.

Saw Jurassic World last night and thought it was dire. Spectacular visuals completely wasted on a terrible script and characters. Can't believe I was looking at my watch during a dino film, but the story was boring and predictable, and felt too long. And omg stop with the constant references to other films it's not clever. Strictly for brainless fans of Marvel comic films, it has none of the magic of the original.

Nice to see Katie McGrath again though, if only briefly. And I loved the Triumph.
Go on then, what would you're plot be?

Southpaw - really enjoyed it! I'll give it 7.5/10.

Nightcrawler - another good film, a solid 7.5/10.

Jake Gyllenhall is pumping out some great performances.

I'm just miffed because Katie completely disappeared from the film for about an hour, then was randomly treated to a horrific death, wtf?
that was a genuine wtf moment for me, I actually had a tame nightmare about it. Horrific. How that's not an 18 i'll never know.
