Hmm, so it wasn't, 'Your momma is so fat even Jabba the Hutt went, 'Damn!'
That's how it may have translated as. Either that or "My hovercraft is full of eels. Drop your panties, Sir William, I cannot wait until lunchtime"
Or
'I will buy this record, it is scratched.'

Do you know that one?

Finally got around to seeing this having avoided this thread for weeks.

Overall I enjoyed it but it was let down by some weak characters, dialogue and plot holes. Visually it was stunning and Rapace/Fassbender put in great perfomances imo The rest of the crew were completely forgettable, unlike Alien. The plot had some interesting ideas and I enjoyed how the Jockeys were handled for the most part.

It certainly isn't a classic Alien film but I think it slots fairly well into the Alien universe.

It may not be a terrible film, but the faults are so obvious that they may as well be on par with one of the actors doing their scene with their jumper on inside out

unnecessary f**k ups

Well, the film has been out long enough that this minor spoiler is probably acceptable now...

The funniest thing on that page is this pretentious post methinks.biggrin

I have a feeling that there is so much internet-hate toward this movie because those people who claim to hate it because they are too smart for it are actually quite dumb, and in their ignorance of literary tools and obsession with naturalism; all of the metaphor, motifs, and allusions were never even tasted because they only experience the surface of books and films.

The short-short is that you have a bunch of pious nerds that hate Prometheus because it's an art film, and they can't get their black and white minds around art or its motives.

Watched Alien³ last night.
Was amused to see the video equipment they used to record Ripley's last moments was a massive VHS type affair, the sort I used to record my family stuff back in the early 90s.biggrin

At least the video cassette didn't spool out a load of tape which then wrapped around Ripley's neck and strangled her to death. Because if Prometheus had had a video cassette in it, that's what would have happened.

No, the alien "life force" would have taken over the video machine and turned it into a robot monster that would then try and kill her....

oh , wait... hang on... thats another film...

Maybe Michael Bay and Ridley Scott could collaborate on the next film ? smile
