Mmmm not sure about that. Last weeks episode was great but the finale was a bit disappointing for me.

Another series then..

I'm still not quite sure what happened at the end of this one to be honest!

Well I think I understood most of that! All I've got to do now is remember it for series three!!

And no I'm not going to try to explain it on here, sorry.

Likewise. Thought the series interesting and enjoyable; quite intriguing, but the unveiling was really hurried and rushed, as well as a tad unlikely (which I could have lived with given the rest!)

Someone else's summary

Basically Denton was set up, just not the way we thought she was. She knew that people wanted to kill the protected witness and took a bribe on top to deliver him to his killers. However the plan (seemingly masterminded by Dot) was for him to be murdered and Lindsay to take the rap for it.
Acker's was also set up by Dot and was murdered in the ambush as well. Lindsay changed her mind and wasn't following the planned route but the killers still knew where to find them because of the tracker on her car.

Review and a decent recap of who done what http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/tvandradio...

Jed Mercurio q&a chat blog http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/blogbbctv/posts/Line-Of...

Cottan was a bad one again, and looks like he's going higher in series 3, hope he gets caught in the next one.

The flashbacks and the captioned ending was weird and didn't fit the rest of the series style for me, but it's been a really good series, up at the same high level as The Bridge. The ending just takes a bit of time to process. After reading the review link, I'm getting my head around it now. I mean that as a good thing, it's not a spoon fed yay the good guys won series and it's better for it.

What I don't get is why she would choose to risk going down for the whole plot rather than fess up to the bribe.

Didn't like the whole summary ending either. The whole ending just seemed like they'd run out of time to let the story run and just wrapped it up. It was the antithesis of last week's 17 minutes.

If she admits to the bribe then who is going to believe she wasn't involved in the murder conspiracy.

The question I've been asking is did she do it and I realise I was asking the wrong question.

I felt the ending was done very well as it leaves so many unfinished ends.

Like life really.

Why was Fleming kipping in her car?

Presume the pay now bill was in fact hers and not Hastings.

And we still don't know who is behind Ackers/Dot :-(

So the moral of the story is don't try and help waifs and strays otherwise you'll end up doing life, a bit far fetched.

Presume she changed her mind just before the ambush hence changing route.

V disappointed have to say.

Denton will be out in the third series.....I hope. :-( lol

Glad to see a third series commissioned. Lots of mileage in the dot story.

Enjoyed that. As finales go wasn't as explosive as series one but I did enjoy the scenes between Ackers and Denton.

All in all, brilliant.

That was an anti-climax.

I didn't expect it to come back to Denton, my wife believed Dot was The Caddy last week, but I thought it was the fat (Emmerdale) copper.

To those who are saying it was a letdown, it's unfortunate that you feel that way as the series all along kept us all guessing.

I felt that what the writer had achieved was depict a high level of realism in that most of the people involved had something to hide.

I think the disappointment for many is that we couldn't identify the Mr Big behind it all but in real life - that is what it's like sometimes with just the hangers on getting caught and getting the big jail sentence.

I think I would have been more disappointed had we been expected to believe that someone would go to all that trouble over what in comparison was a minor crime such as the BJ with someone Dryden didn't know was under age.

Credit to everyone involved. I hope 3M viewers is considered sufficient by the BBC to produce a third series.

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it apart from the naff final bit with captions and the flashback.

It kept me awake last night for a bit, just thinking about it. (Nothing's changed.)

I think I've cracked it but will probably see the finale again.

A serieis that leaves you thinking: how cool is that?

Still an enjoyable series and i enjoyed last nights episode although as others have said, the ending the was a bit of a cop out for me.

They had 5 episodes to make the most of but they condensed the majority of what we all wanted to know into 10 minutes of flashbacks and captions at the end.

I'll still look forward to the next series though...

Exactly what I thought when the credits rolled.

So Dot is as bent as was made out in Series 1 and his motive for killing Hunter is Hunter knows who he is and what he's done. Dot recruits Akers from the angle of Hunter's got immunity but he's a scumbag up to his old tricks. Denton inserting herself into Hunter's life must have been perfect for Dot / Akers - suddenly they get a fall guy.

Dot's partner / controller is still unnamed and now Dot has himself inside AC12 at a high level he's going to be in perfect position to protect himself / them.

Dryden still possibly a figure - after all he inserted Dot into AC12

Arnott / Fleming are a good team and shaping up nicely - just when you think they're going to fall apart, they're back stronger.

I knew it was going to end with questions left unanswered and really bodes well for a 3rd series.

I don't want to bring reality into this but her legal team needs a kick up the fundament as there were lots and lots of objections against just about every bit of evidence against her. She should get a fair bit more money than the bribe when she sues for malicious prosecution.

Procedural matters to one side, a weak point was the money. Someone as intelligent as Denton would not have left it where it would be easily found. That said, those search teams are good. If you can't put it somewhere totally obscure, you might as well leave it on the dining room table.
