Really like this show. But does anyone else think the challenges are a little pointless? It's all about cooking their own food for the judges, not feeding the cast of eastenders or some historians.

There's a chance she could muck it up next week - but she seems absolutely made for a career in the industry. She manages to be organised and non-stressed, without ever seeming over-confident. I'm in love actually.

I'd imagine the studios feel that the majority of viewers need these little dramas and gimmicks to maintain interest.

Tom Kerridge is a lovely bloke, isn't he? I thought he was superb with them tonight, and from the contestants' reaction when they saw him, it seems clear that he has a good reputation in the context of Masterchef.

Imagine what their demeanours would have been if they'd been presented with Marcus Waring instead.
