There was a chap on the radio the other day. He was explaining that thanks largely to social media nothing is ever just okay anymore. Everyone has an outlet for their opinion; twitter, forums, facebook, snapchat, blogs, etc and they quickly polarise.
The example he gave was when people go and see a movie now. They may leave thinking "hmm, yuh, that was okay". By the next day it was either complete s
t or utterly brilliant.
I thought the old new Top Gear was okay. Occasionally brilliant, occasionally belly-laugh funny, occasionally a bit poor, only rarely complete dross (India trip or "Top of the Gear Pops", anyone). But mostly it as okay. Just, you know, okay.
A bit like that new Star Wars film.

Unfortunately , I think you are right. The only succesful North American presenters I can think of were all/are on the radio. Alistsair Cooke etc. The fact that htis bloke's claim to fame was that he was in some soap nonsense does not excite.

I agree. People who say it was st are just jumping on the bandwagon IMO. They were just hitting their stride again as it was cancelled.stephen300o said:

Fair do's - at least they haven't enlisted the help of Quentin Wilson or Jodie Kidd (Thank God!) . The problem that the BBC have now got is getting through the series without promoting the EU, Climate Change or Global Warming! Without the usual suspects presenting the programme I don't think The Beeb will be able to resist.

Eddie Jordan was a businessman, not a car person. What 'expertise' he could offer around cars and motorsport (noting of course that F1 is just a tiny part of the motorsport world) would comfortably fit on the back of a postage stamp.
