I thought it would be a complete revamp of TG but it's the bloody same.

All they've done is change the presenters. Same set, same lame jokes, same format, even the poxy Stig.

All I can say is 'meh'

I agree. The same format but with different presenters is always going to invite comparison.

Its rare that the sequel is better than the original so they should have taken this opportunity to try some changes.

Jeez......they're even trotting out the "Some say....." gag to introduce the Stig.
With a new team, they should've gone with a new format. It's trying too hard to b old TG and just comes across as a crap copy.

Seems more or less the same as the "old" Top Gear, just with absolutely terrible presenters. REALLY bad! I'll still watch it, but its a poor imitation of the old programs, and I say that as someone who had a totally open mind about it.

Because as shown by this thread by not changing it everything is being compared, and feels like they are trying too hard. If they'd have changed the format they might have had half a chance.

I really really want it to be good.
So far, it's not.

Perhaps I'm missing something, but it amazes me they felt the need to recreate the old Top Gear but with different people.. It will never be as good, or better as it will always live in the shadow of the old format. They need to make change, take a risk and find a new audience. This 'low risk' approach is actually far more risky, particularly when it is, well naff.
