Captain America: Civil War

Frak.
Another masterclass in a perfect trailer.
Did it look like Widow might have flip-flopped a bit?
And Spidey, big nerdgasm.
Looks like the big hitters Thor and Hulk are out, and Vision can be nullified by Scarlet Witch.
Nice to see a fight with Iron-Man take it's toll on Cap as well....
wonder if we'll see any deaths.

Didn't they say that Hulk and Thor were deliberately out as they were the only 2 who couldn't really have a counter? Hence Hulk did his flounce at the end of Avengers 2?
If they were in it, they would dominate the fights too much. Anyone who fights them would lose and you can't half lose to the Hulk. It's pretty hard to slightly smash someone
I guessed that could be the reason, Hulk has been set up as unstoppable so far, I hope in preparation for some kick-ass storyline later on.If they were in it, they would dominate the fights too much. And Thor 3 starts shooting this summer.
This should be some really good even matches, though Iron-Man is probably a bit too powerful, but then he has a more explicit weakness, having to rely on his tech.
I just can't get over the quality. The fights in WInter SOlider were spot-on, it is the same people?
gif.
From what I recall of the HulkvThor thing, Hulk was just smacking Thor around. I get the impression that'd it'd be good, but Hulk would also batter Thor one on one.
I think Iron-Man would be a tad too powerful, but looking at Cap, he looks utterly fked, so I reckon that fight should be realistic.

As for Hulk, Iron Man technically did stop him with his Hulk Buster suit in the Ultron film and Thor Vs Hulk was a stalemate but I guess they can't have them fighting again.
Still think Iron Man is too powerful and not sure if CA could really go toe-to-toe with him. He's a great character but a bit outclassed by some of the stronger players like IM. Will be interesting to see how they handle the fight.
That was a Scarlet Witch affected Hulk? Trying to stop himself, I can't remember how that fight ends, I recall it was brilliant. I reckon a Hulk all in one mind would ultimately moider Stark in any suit.Still think Iron Man is too powerful and not sure if CA could really go toe-to-toe with him. The fights.
I'll have to watch Avengers 2 again.
The hammr evens things up for Thor. I used to have a comic where Thor wanted a scrap, but Hulk wouldn't fight him so long as he had the hammer. Thor threw it away as hard as he could (knowing it'd return in a few minutes). It was a goos scrap but was only gonna go one way, the comic showing how batter THor became, a rare event. I think it'd be the same in the film, it'd last, I know he's potent, one of the ones who is most so, but it'd only ever go one way, Hulk is Hulk. Thor and Hulk were both my fave characters back in the day. I collected both their series, oh and Silver Surfer.
Both CA and WS are super-soldiers, plus they are war vets, so I can see the pair of them working in tandem beating IM.
Jeez, I thought they were doing well by thinking about the suit.
But as this pick-apart vid shows, they really...really put a lot of thought into these films.

Thor (like everyone else) is strongest at the start of a fight as he goes on he gets weaker and tires, as is normal. Hulk at bse level is already stronger and then just gets stronger as he fights on. I don't see how it's feasible, HUlk could lose in the rules we have. Tony Stark doesn't say, 'we have a THor.'
Nerdfight.
Hulk gets stronger as he fights though, and starts at least as strong or stronger. Hulk would have to get bored or distracted. Thor is immortal from eating golden apples, make sure he doesn't break for lunch.
Gods can be killed, Balder was killed by mistletoe, they just don't expire from old age.
edit.
I really hope Ragnarok doesn't just lift the World War Hulk storyline.

Nice gif spin on Hulk punching Thor as well.
another edit!
Links in my youtube now, cas I've been geeking out over the past day.
8 Sorts who have beaten Hulk!
I had a few of those issues! I loved it when Hulk was the smaller Grey version...though the guy is wrong about the Thing fight, Hulk actually does beat Thing by outsmarting him there, cas he is weaker in Grey form...ahh my geek knowledge.

At least wait until InfinityWar 2 has finished!
I hope the bottom doesn't drop out till then.
I don't mind if they keep making CBH films for decades...so long as they are good, the trouble is, because the good ones make cash, everybody wants to make one, so we get a tonne of st, which dilutes the marketplace and ultimately will switch people off. Look at the Western.
The good ones, are genuinely good films regardless of genre. Sony/Fox are gonna throw any old st at the wall and hope it sticks simply in and effort to retain rights to franchises.

Well that's already failed for Sony, at least they were smart enough to get back into bed with Marvel. Fox were heading the same way until they scored a lucky left field hit with Deadpool, a film they hated and surprise surprise made by actual comic book fans.
Marvels great trick so far has been to, where possible, not make "superhero" films, they've made action films , scifi films, political thrillers and comedies that happen to feature heroes. They're hoping to play the same trick with Dr Strange this year and tap into a bit of a mystical/magic/fantasy vibe by the sounds of it.
Well Sony are pushing ahead with the Venom film. Fox still hold the Fantastic Four...though I was never really into them anyway, boring fkers. I think the big problem is when they get a bit "kitchen sink", if they keep the film small we can still relate to the hero.

A shame they can't rely on the comics more for existing storylines and keep suit designs from original artwork.
The original spidery suit in civil war was a completely new suit design and featured retractable mechanical arms as well as other types of weopons which spidery never had. He joined the new avengers after civil war started as well as wolverine. Another reason why they should have stuck to the comics
A totally new Spidey suit wouldn't work, since we haven't met SPidey before in the MCU. And we haven't seen the film, maybe a third suit appears at the end. Stark likes to fiddle. It seems the traditional suit we see, is the work of Stark, or at least, has Stark tech in it.The original spidery suit in civil war was a completely new suit design and featured retractable mechanical arms as well as other types of weopons which spidery never had. Wolverine can't be used, or any aspect of X-Men or the Fantastic Four. Which means we get to see the lesser used sorts, which is good!
Goes back to when Marvel was a tiny company on the verge of disappearing. Selling the family silverware into a media where they hoped their goodies would prosper.
Things have changed now, but those rights, those precious rights!
In my opinion what Marvel (very new studio) have done with their own product pisses all over from a great height what other studios have done. But the greed will deny the sensible return. It took two successive failures for Spidey to return.

Yeah, the limited style finale has been done to death. MY current fave three GotG, CAWS and Ant-Man, only Ant-Man has that generic finale. But the feel of all three was rather special.
I never read the Infinity Gauntlet when I was a kid, so am not wholly sure hat to expect, but I would think/hope it has more of the above three ingenuity, than a flat out bash-it at the end.

This covers all the tie-ins.
