Never gave this any thought but my wife has a theory that instead of one long day shooting an episode (with lengthy game turnarounds), they shoot several in a day, so a bunch of Gauntlet runs for several shows worth etc. set areas for key family at the front of the crowd, then just cycle those around too between 'different shows' (probably filmed 15 minutes apart).
Bradley and his son always have the same clothes on, presumably for continuity. Also loving all the hand drawn Gladiator signs kids conveniently had before having any idea who they all were, so presumably drawn by the production team and handed out.
Funnily enough we sussed that out tonight, was there something obvious that made us think of it? On the kids signs we thought it was more likely to be that there were activities for the kids in between games and what few set piece changes there are-tickets allow for kids as young as 5 year old so there must be some interaction to keep them occupied.Bradley and his son always have the same clothes on, presumably for continuity. We also mused if that was why it was the Walsh's presenting-maybe they keep the crowd going in between takes and changes?

Watching on catch up/
Findleys run on "THE EDGE" good game imo but they are going to hafve to expend that net out. if he went off at the far point and at spped he'd miss the net....
We saw the same, as all the gladiator needs to do is jump into them so they both go off it could get close (and did).Findleys run on "THE EDGE" good game imo but they are going to hafve to expend that net out. if he went off at the far point and at spped he'd miss the net....
Do we have any firm favourites in the house yet? My wife thinks Legend is way better than Viper as the stage baddy and reminds her of Wolf, Nitro is great and makes a great team with Phantom, Sabre is a class act and so is the female rugby player (?).
Diamond, Giant and Apollo all seem like good eggs as well, they need to expand on the series as if there was any meet and greets my kids would be over the moon-I’m amazed there isn’t even a magazine of book for the kids yet.

Great list! We are about the same. Nitro is incredible, like some kind of bonkers nimble, rapid superhuman with the body definition of a gym sculpture - and doesn’t take himself seriously. Giant makes me laugh in disbelief because he is so massive, no one has a chance. Legend is doing great at the panto thing and really makes us chuckle. Sabre is captivating and Fury is the definition of an outstanding Gladiator.Diamond, Giant and Apollo all seem like good eggs as well, they need to expand on the series as if there was any meet and greets my kids would be over the moon-I’m amazed there isn’t even a magazine of book for the kids yet.
But they are all great. Absolutely loving this show!! I really hope it becomes as massive as the old one!
Our girls have latched onto Dynamite (as our youngest is tiny) and Athena but it's interesting seeing them warm to some of the gladiators who are coming to the forefront as the better competitors. Diamond, Sabre and Fury are amazing role models for young kids and as you say, Nitro is off the scale. Sabre is striking the right balance for me as the Gladiator who wants to win at all costs whilst still bigging up the contestants. Like a lot of Dads I still train and probably fancy myself a bit but out of all of the men I reckon Nitro would wipe the floor with me. On a speed, agility and strength game I couldn't see how I could beat him at all.
I follow him on SM a bit and he's just living the dream-what an athlete though-those standing jumps he does are unreal and his sprints are something else.
Only one none of us are sure of is Viper, it's a bit of a shame he's obviously being pushed into the Wolf role but it doesn't really suit him some how-never mind that Wold did it whilst still being likeable somehow?!

Really enjoyed tonights show. No idea what the female gladiators were on on the second run of the Gauntlet but I thought it was quite amusing!
Feels like they try to manipulate the gap on the eliminator. I was surprised they let a contestant start with an 11 second lead.See the the old gauntlet for comparison
The New Gauntlet is massively stacked against the Gladiators, I can see that changing for the next series if it keeps going. They need to stick to their white line, the channel is too wide and the double rugby training pads seem more like a hinderance than a weapon, they can't pin the contestant, can't push them over the side, can't push them beyond their individual zone-what can they actually do?
Same with the wall, the Gladiators probably need to start a second earlier, climbing the Wall should really be the exception (as should running the Gauntlet) with a big points haul if you make it, or cling on for survival.

There’s got to be some kids merch coming for this show soon, right? Birthdays coming up in the next few months and they’d love some Gladiators stuff!
We’ve been saying the same, there hasn’t even been a kids magazine. I don’t think they’ve been prepared for it being such a hit.We got the kids some foam hands for the first episode but they’re just generic ones off eBay.

Really disappointing for Chung. It's a strange situation that a contestant who doesn't even win their heat was in the running to be a finalist.
The only contentious thing was Giant breaking the rules on Duel. He clearly lost his balance and used his stick on the contestant's platform to stop himself falling. Should have been a DQ, but I think they wanted to keep the scores close between contestants.
Agreed with giant, he got well lucky there! I think gauntlet would be improved in one of two ways, giving the gladiators better pads or making the channel narrower…
Or making it a time trial-give then twenty seconds to get through it with descending point scores for how long it took-10 points if you were 1-5 seconds, 5 points if you’re 6-10 seconds and 2 points if you make it through within 11-20 seconds
It was Bionic who monstered the contestant down three zones by the way-that was a belter.

Great final, we had a party for it-feels like we could take two series a year.
Noticed they ditched a couple of the hard contact games to reduce the chance of injury.
Nitro showboating on the wall
Dynamite and Bionic are brutal at dual, so much to enjoy-it’ll be a massive miss for the kids next week. ITV should put up the OG series for download.

Kids absolutely love him though. My 7 year old does. All her class mates do. Hence them putting him on CBeebies this week.
Agreed, Viper is a hit with all the youngsters as well as Dynamite who was rubbished on here (even though her Dual stats were pretty impressive!).https://youtu.be/khcZ9bYbRaM?si=VE4fnnsZGqMJbbmy
Episode 1 series 1 of the British OG upscaled into HD. Our kids actually enjoyed it!
It feels more like a televised live sporting event than a made for TV "gameshow" although I don't remember if it changed throughout the series. I don't find Brad and his son too off-putting and I hear Brad keeps the crowd going between takes but I do feel they're missing a female presenter-it's mixed events so why not have mixed presenters?
The events do feel a bit short changed in the reboot but after the success it's been I wouldn't bet on them improving that next time around.
It may be that the Sheffield Arena is simply too small though, at least at the NEC they could have two or three "arenas" set up and could move the crowd around but perhaps the budget isn't there for that...yet.
