Mrs Browns Boys - Why doesn't it make me laugh?
Discussion
I thought it was funny when it first started as it was different. But now I don't find it even faintly amusing.
It's like some dreadful amateur theatre production. Every joke is laboured and telegraphed.
The program that does make me laugh is Would I Lie To You, or Have I Got News.... There's very little situation comedy on at the moment that I find funny.

Did anyone see "not going out", now that is ste, I have not seen anything as un-funny as that.
I agree about Mrs Browns boys looking a bit tired but I was rather watch the latter. Maybe it's my age, who knows. I am looking forward to seeing what "Open All Hours" is like tonight.

Sums up my thoughts on it too. My mate thinks it's the most hilarious thing on TV, ever, though. The Office is another prog which I find totally unfunny too. It's like they try too hard to be funny and completely over-do it, that's when it's no longer funny. All American sitcoms fall into this category as well.
I see it as father ted for stupid people.
my dad enjoys it, he has the box set saying that he thinks Miranda is funny as well. this is a far cry from the man who introduced me to airplane.
I Loaned him the office and curb your enthusiasm once, he said it was st.
the other half loves it, falls about laughing, seriously falls about, yet when I make a witty smart arsed remark that is of a higher calibre than the show I get a look. I suspect she is too stupid to get my cutting edge patter though.
I watched a episode with her once and could predict the plot, the next joke and generally most of the show. she asked if id seen it, I hadn't. I think that's why it just isn't funny, as if you've seen tele before and have half a brain you can see the jokes coming a mile away....I fking hate it.

I think this show, like Miranda, only really appeals to women. My mum finds both hilarious, as do a few other women I know and others I've spoken to.
I like comedy, and like all things its each to their own, but this show, like Miranda, doesn't even get a twitch of a smile from me.
Utter, utter dross.
