The first few seasons of lost were incredible. I still did enjoy it right up until the final season but it really just did start to fall apart and make naff all sense. Which is a huge shame and discredits the rest of the series..... I still think its definitely worth a watch and worth finishing though

^^This
It's starts pretty much like Prison Break and White Collar. Season 1 is simply excellent TV.
From thereon it simply goes downhill.

Most of those kind of TV series I got out before they got crappy, but there were so many unanswered questions in Lost that I had to keep watching to find out...
Glad to see that time hasn't changed opinions of Lost.
The main reason to get annoyed with the writers is that they depended on a huge mystery - why was all this stuff happening? - and promised us that they had it all worked out - ie. they would answer why it was all happening. The whole final season makes it clear that this was not true, and that basically they had been making it up all along.
If all your tv programme is based on is the equivalent of teenage boys going 'wouldn't it be cool if a polar bear skydives into a volcano?' (not a spoiler), the end result is a mess that is going to disappoint. Even more so if they promise you they have a good reason for the volcano, the polar bear and the skydiving.
