I understand (from reviews) that this totally bombed in the US. with several episodes being shown back to back.

The taxis looked like Renault Dauphines but there were some Morris Minors in there too. Not sure about the van.

The cars were Renault Dauphines.
The whole thing was dire, I gave up after around 15minutes.

Ok, it's not like the Original which i love to bits, but i bet you'll be hooked onto it after a few programmes. I'm going to follow it for a while and not dismiss it because it's a modern remake.

If anyone is at all interested - here's a link to the "behind the scenes" photo album of our video shoot at Portmeirion this weekend just gone:

Had a fantastic time, and was quite surreal to be filming a Prisoner-inspired video in Portmeirion on the weekend the new version aired... I think I'll not watch it on point of principle!

It's not too bad, Anyone predict the ending? The anchor in the desert and the sketch of statue of liberty is a bit "Planet of the ape-ish!

It's not doing too well over here either. Last week it got 3.2 million viewers. This week it got 2.1 million.

It is a really poor show. I think the production values are low, slow development and the acting is not fantastic, Ian McKellen aside.

Well it got a lot worse this week.

Slow, poorly acted and really having nothing to do with the original.

For a place were everyone is happy and doesn't know about the outside it seems pretty much everyone 6 speaks to wants to escape or remembers an outside. And would not at least be a bit worried about the towers?

Some channel (4). Should have grabbed the opportunity and re-screened the original.

Bit of music to lighten the mood...! Some video footage has popped up on YouTube of my band playing in Hercules Hall in Portmeirion the other weekend. A medley of the Dangerman/Prisoner theme tunes, followed by (most of) Snake Charmer, our single:

Reference the cars. Yes, Dauphines and Morris 1000. Also a Skoda Felicia Cabriolet and at least one Nissan Figaro. The vans are Bedford CA. No2 drives a Mecedes Ponton Cabrio I think.

Hope I don't get in trouble for resurrecting an old thread but SyFy are showing the remake from tonight at 10pm.

As someone who has never seen the original but appreciates its historical standing, is it worth tuning in?

Previous comments seem mixed.

Edit: Just noticed that, as well as Lennie James, it also has Ruth Wilson from Luther in it so will give it a look see.

Avoid the remake as you'll regret every second of it. Watch the original by all means.
