His show is 'fresh and endlessly popular'. Not around these parts it seems.

Salvation in the form of Radcliffe and Maconie on R6, shame its digital only and finishes at 4.00.

Richard Bacon on R5 is pretty good too, although no music. Steve Wright makes me want to smash the radio to bits (and not in a good way).

But it's followed by Steve Lamacq, which is a great show.

True, I didn't like him too much before as always viewed his previous output as shoegazing stuff, but am enjoying it so far. Good bit of vintage Eric B & Rakim on now.

...And lauren Laverne isn't too bad either. I used to listen to the first hour of J. Vine before switching to Mark and Lard...oops, Maconie - but Vince got so bad I switched to 6 Music at 12.00 instead.

I bash the BBC a lot, but 6 Music is very very good.

ETA - Into the Valley by the Skids now! Fantastic!

Can you want to smash a radio in a good way?

6 Music move was annoying.Just don't get the chance to listen anymore. Also liked their time slot on radio 2....good for work in the shed for a lot of people I'm sure.

This reminds me of the time he had started "the big" show one day and kept fading in and out the intro to a song whilst using different words to describe the show: "Contemporary would describe us" - plays a few seconds - "Modern, yes it's modern" and so on. I nearly drove to London to beat him up with his headphones.

I heard him yesterday with that old woman he has on the show. They were talking about the weather in America:

Old Woman: "We usually get the weather America gets don't we?

Steve Wright: "No. Not usually but sometimes".

Patronising .

It's Terry's baby and I don't think he could take not being center of attention. I bet he even hates introducing or advertising bits of other shows during his.
