And another thing..............why does he NEVER take part in Children in need?????????? He's always on holiday this week & I can't rememember him ever doing the non-stop music marathon on the Friday (& I'm quite old & have been listening a long time!!!!!!!)
It's Terry's baby and I don't think he could take not being center of attention. I bet he even hates introducing or advertising bits of other shows during his.
He really is even more of a than I thought he was!
Wogan is only on there because he gets st loads of money for doing it!! He may donat his fee now, but he will have been shamed in to it!

Has anyone noticed how Sally traffic will normally have a bit of banter with whichever presenter she is with but with Wright she just goes straight into her traffic report and then goes?

Edited to add that yes Kielty is indeed more awful than awful. What is it with Radio 2 and getting st stand in DJ's, it never used to be like this.

Weirdly, Wrighty's show is one i make a point of trying to listen to. Maybe because it is the same as 25 years ago, it makes me comfortable!
Like Simon Mayo too, but Evans.....cant stick the guy on the radio, like him on TV though.
weird

Ps everyone on R1 is a trivial tt.

you can tell by the way he annouces other shows/feature other than his own that he hates doing it. there's an almost condescending tone to his voice whilst he does it.

My wife mentioned that he was the only paid entertainer at Children in Need - I'd never heard of this before, if its true it certainly changes my opinion of him. I thought it was all for charidie no?

You'd hope that the BEEB wouldn't be spunking out £300k a year to pay Writey to spout out that recycled drivel if no-one liked it. I would imagine that most of the brain dead lemming listners would be chuckling their way through it every day. It is insanely awful, but on during the prime afternoon spot - go figure. If you put on Evan Davis and 2 hours of cerebral conversations with studio guests about the Eurozone crisis, you'd get a few more complaints than 100 people on PH!

ETA: Sorry, £440k per year. Yes, that's 440,000 of your licence fee pounds

And the BBC seem to struggle with where to make the cuts?

Just had a look on Google, turns out there was a big stick kicked up in 2007 when it turned out Tezza was getting paid £9k to do Children in Need, however this money came from BBC coffers rather than money for the kiddies. Also, as the money went straight to Terry's agent he didn't realise he was getting it(!) but has now waived the fee.

Is it just me that absolutely can't stand Sally f'ing Traffic - she is so far up herself it's a wonder she can walk. I have absolutely no interest in her f'ing opinion. Do the traffic and then sod off! [/mild rant]

"What will we talk about today"

"Well my boilers playing up"

"So is mine, I can't get a shower"

"Wow, everybody will want to hear about this, and the issues we're having getting it fixed"

"Yep"

And then in true Smashy and Nicey style, they proceeded to "chat" about their bloody boilers.

I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR BOILER YOU FAT, OUT OF TOUCH, PRICK.

Yes, he was getting paid 9k to host the Children In Need programe!! I think that after he was named and shamed in the press he now donates his fee!

This all makes him a real scumbag in my books!

I certainly prefer Steve Wright in the afternoons to Patrick Kielty. Doesn't Chris Tarrant usually cover for Steve Wright?
