Just watched the Isetta episode. Wow, just wow. Amazing work by Edd, and what a great looking little thing.
I agree and I find the simplicity and fun factor so appealing about the Isetta, something definitely missing these days. Great car, great episode.

it's not a 390, it's a 302 (should really be a 289). I know because I bought the car.
You bought it from the Wheeler Dealer boys or you were a previous owner?

I bought it from Wheeler Dealers 15th September with my son Adam. Sadly Adam couldn't be there when the filming was done the following Thursday which was a real shame as I'd love both of us to be filmed buying it.

They bought the car in from California for the show. It still needs some minor stuff inside and silly odds and sods that would only be done as part of full restoration which they don't do but the car is genuinely lovely and drives almost like new. When I went to see the car I took two American car mechanic friends with who looked over it, under it and drove it and they said they've never seen one that good which hasn't had a body off restoration.

Was a really great day, Mike, Edd and Paul are genuinely really nice guys with a real passion for cars. I also saw the Isetta close up and it was truly beautiful.

The world can see me making a knob of myself this Tuesday - can't wait (I think !!)

When you watch the episode you'll see that the car has (or had to be precise) a louvered sun shade on the rear screen - to us this totally ruined the line of what is a beautifully designed car so it was removed the day after we got the car home.

Whatever possessed them to leave it on is a mystery to me but maybe this will be revealed in the episode on Tuesday.

PC - if anyone wants to by a period, all metal louvered rear screen shade in perfect condition for a 1967 Mustang Fastback let me know cos it's definitely for sale

When you bought it, was it registered or did you have to sort that after?

Really enjoyed this episode, mainly because I've just finished a 3 year resto on my 67 fastback. A few inaccuracies, but overall a great program and the car looked fantastic at the end.

Rusty, agree about the rear window slats, mine came from the US with them fitted and the first thing i did was remove them. If you want to know what the rear applique panel looks like, heres a pic of mine -

Glad the general reaction to the car was positive, I used to watch the show and wonder if the cars really were any good and if the paint was done well but I've got to say that it really is that good close up ( not concours but they didn't pay concours money).

Mike wanted the car for himself but wasn't allowed to keep it - can't say I feel bad about it though !

There's so much more that's been done to the car than you see - basically the entire suspension and braking system was replaced inc. shocks, springs, calipers, discs etc so the "cost" price includes some poetic licence but, hey - that's tv. One odd thing is that they had it mot'd with the original US headlamps in with beam diverter stickers - all that money spent and they forgot £25 for headlamps !

Car was registered to Paul (Edd's sidekick mechanic and really nice guy) so all that was needed was to apply for a new log book ( which still hasn't arrived now I think about it).

We love the car - I think I looked like a tt buying it !

That episode was bloody brilliant, when I saw the green paint I was a little disappointed but it looked amazing when it was done.

Would love to own something like that.

Nah, you came across okay

I pretty much guessed that the would change a load of things not accounted for (spotted the power steering hoses that they failed to mention). I assume they have to ensure they're not about to sell a death trap and get sued to kingdom come. When Ed did the rear brakes i thought that the exhaust on that side looked a little 'fresh'. Did they swap that as well!

Love 67's, yours looks beautiful and is a credit to you. Engine/trans?

They gave me all the bits taken of the car inc rear panels plus original wheels, tyres, aircleaner, new seat covers in the box as they didn't fit them, wings, gauges etc. Very lucky really.

Nope, exhaust was fine as was. They changed everything else though. The car is only really an actor in a program so we knew it would have to be better than just good for exactly that reason
