the whole 5+mill UK TG audience tuned in to watch. It fell during his tenure, but they gave the berk the chance to parade his half baked morons delight of an act.

The problems go far deeper but he was pretty symptomatic of the complete lack of grasp anyone left involved has. Just a shoddy homage to tg "oh look we got the format and the theme tune and the stig and siarpc and sabine (shes cool right?) So it must be a sucess right??"

You can give me paints but i wont paint you a rembrant.
Absolutely. Let it die. Let Harris and co go back to what they are good at. Which certainly isn't TG..
Slash the budget; clarkson & co came from little so anyone making new top gear should earn their entitlement.

Advertise for self formed teams who think they have the ideas to take the show forwards, shortlist 3 or 4 and assign them all some decent cameramen producers etc and make pilots and let the public vote?

Glad Evans has gone. The right decision in the end, he was unpopular with the vast majority of the viewing audience and based on what has been said in the media was falling out with producers and co-presenters alike.

I do like the idea of Jenson having a run at it. I think he'd be quite good fun with Matt Le Blanc. Just needs a good team to produce the show and not force the interplay between the presenters too much.

I remember when the BBC lost Des Lynam from MOTD who seemed irreplaceable as most viewers related to him as the cool old uncle kind of figure. When Lineker was announced as his replacement people were skeptical but ultimately seemed to enjoy the 'mate from the pub' kind of style he brought instead.

As far as Top Gear goes I could see Jenson fitting into this mould quite well. Bring in Guy Martin (not James Martin as some papers are reporting) and I think it's a winner, sadly I can't see this happening though.

Chris Evans did too... biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I've not seen a lot of Guy Martin, but found his "How great is this?!?!" every few minutes on the Vulcan programme remarkably reminiscent of Chris Evans! biggrin

Katie Hopkins or piers morgan, I like opinionated people Hopkins is an outsider but piers morgan is 4th favourite with the bookies
I think Katie Hopkins is unable to drive for a year, following her brain surgery to "cure" her serious epilepsy. She does hold a licence though.
Still cannot believe piers is 4th favourite with the bookies though, he must have been backing himselfbiggrin
Oh and if he's not president Donald Trump is good on telly

On the Eddie Jordan side of things, I really don't mind him (In small doses), because he doesn't seem to know everyone is taking the pi** out of him.

Lesson to be learned by all here. Evans era TG was a false start, the sequel everyone will want to forget.

Time for the tail to stop wagging the dog - a proper showrunner is now needed who will select talent to match their vision of the show. If he or she picks from the remaining pool and/or adds new faces, so be it. No point in speculating or trying to make a face fit with what has already gone by - that was exactly the mistake they made this time round.

This series of TG will be repeated on Dave as often as the first one with Jason Dawes IMO.
