"They're a bit odd - they have loads of photos of Sid James everywhere". Wha.....????

Mary preparing her arms for entry.....laugh

PS Did you spot the names on the white board above Sarah's bed ? The Midwife was Roberts, and the Doctor was Ogden. Corrie keeps traditions....

biglaugh

I'm wondering where Caitlin's aversion to kids storyline is going; can't remember her previously indicating a dislike of them. And how's Derek Griffth's storyline going to develop? Maybe he'll be Mary's new toy boy smile

Well not really a lot happened last night....Phelan wasn't in it...biggrin

I thought Sarah Lou was out of order with Callum's mum, she seems like a nice lady...I guess it was guilt that they murdered her son.....or did they?...smile

My guess is she will relent and let baby Harry into her life....

What else?

Oh yes, Tyrone's delight on his face when Tim offered him forty quids worth of work, he must be really hard up....cry

Meanwhile, Eva worked her charm(s) securing a meeting for a possible big order to save the factory...well done Eva.

She should have used Skype and then she could have displayed all of her charms. Missed a trick there, Eva.

To be fair that is a decent amount for a few hours painting a fence, especially as he is on pocket money.

Didn't Tyrone get left his house in Jack's will? Why can't he raise a mortgage to settle all his payday loan and credit card debts? Have I missed something?

With his now probable bad credit status he'd be unlikely to qualify for a mortgage, and even if he did I suspect he couldn't get such a small one. When I sold a house five years ago I wanted to reduce my mortgage from £70k to £20k and was told the smallest mortgage they could offer was £25k.

This is "soap finance" though. I'm not sure the writers would know the niceties of mortgage acceptability. And I would have thought even having to take on a debt of £25k over 20 years would be preferable to paying an APR of 2000% on a payday loan debt.

Where have Nick & Carla got the money from to buy a "quaint little cottage" in the West Country?

He has only received £100k at the most for his Bistro (Assuming he didn't have any outstanding business loans out on it)....peanuts,...that wouldn't even buy a garden shed down there....

And Carla won't have any, she gambled her company's money away last year....

Plus, they would not be able to get a mortgage because neither of them would have an income, both having sold their businesses.....

I have friends who've just done this - they were selling their business but conveniently didn't tell the bank so they got the loan they wanted based on the books for the past 3 years,

Carla mentioned last night that someone (it turned out to be Tracy) was coming round to view the apartment, so presumably this is providing some of the capital, although I'm sure there must be a sizeable mortgage on it. Possibly the purchase of the cottage is dependent on the flat being sold. I still agree with you - even a tiny cottage is Devon is going to be way more expensive than anything in Weatherfield.
