The Ecuadorian jungle is nowhere near Bolivia.
Whoops, you're correct! I was missing a connecting statement there! We were in the Ecuadorian jungle for a few days and then in the Peruvian jungle (after visiting Machu Picchu), near the Bolivian border (then we went on to the Galapagos Islands). On topic - best programme on tv at the moment.

Embarrassing. Like girls fighting. No one took a step back, no lateral movement... jeez..,
I've done my fair share of toe to toe, albeit not in a military setting, move forward without thinking and you'll catch one.
There's a little guy... 5 foot tops... Gurkha-looking. Hasn't had a direct camera on him once.
I wonder if that's because he goes through to the end, or whether they've put a 'plant' amongst the recruits like they did last series?
ETA: Not Nepalese, now I've seen him again.

17. He was definitely a defensive sparing partner and no mention of him in the commentary! I wonder if that's because he goes through to the end, or whether they've put a 'plant' amongst the recruits like they did last series?

Number 17? Yes I think so, although he looks pretty big in the shoulders and arms for a real pro soldier.I wonder if that's because he goes through to the end, or whether they've put a 'plant' amongst the recruits like they did last series?

Having said that, there was a serving Para in my gym a while back who was comfortably pushing 120kg seated military press for reps; had shoulders like those 5 litre mini beer kegs

How you react to getting smacked is only one small part of it, boxing is the epitome of "controlled aggression" and a bit of movement allows you to deliver your aggression in a controlled manner.
I was just surprised that out of all them noone we saw seemed to have any experience of that physical arena, no martial artists even? Just flailing about head down.
