Robot Wars is coming back
Discussion
This new series is st. All the energy and excitement has been removed compared to the old series' it's weirdly clinical and slow moving. The presenting is woeful too.
I'll carry on watching with the hope of seeing some of my old favourites anyway but seriously unimpressed. The BBC seems to have forgotten how to make its classic shows

You call me petulant and question my posting style, yet it's ok for you to post condescending arrogance like that? Somewhat ironic...227bhp said:
Isn't it past your bedtime anyhow? I know you haven't got school in the morning, but still....
Ah, that old chestnut. You can't beat the old "you must be a school boy insinuation"! Well done you.Making personal slights/insults are rarely resorted to by someone winning an argument...
My last comment on the matter:- It was a poor episode with poor robots and the only decent one was knocked out by having to fight a robot it had already smashed to pieces, a second time. I don't see that as particularly fair. I think the guy running Thor would say the same, and he can rightly feel aggrieved.

I hope Foxic gets mangled. The driver is a nob.
Indeed Fox-st was awful and the driver seems full of it. Bit funny after the first fight, they then showed his team video which has really bigging the machine up. Then we just got round after round of "yeah its all fixed now" only to see it work for about 3 seconds once in the arena. I don't think the weapon did anything at all for the whole show!Thor was a bout the best one there and it wasn't even his hammer/axe that was the crucial item. It was the speed and control given by the stabilised system. He was really accurate with his driving and deserved to do well.
Bad set of robots yesterday. The spinning thing was a good idea but just only worked once.
This gave me a good chuckle:

I'm stoked to see Pulsar in the last ep. It's spinner sounds absolutely crackers!

This in spades. Bloody poor.I'll carry on watching with the hope of seeing some of my old favourites anyway but seriously unimpressed. The BBC seems to have forgotten how to make its classic shows
House robots are awesome though and I'm glad it's on the telly even if Dara 'on everything' O Briain is plain bloody annoying.
You think maybe foxic might be putting on a baddie show, you know, as if it was entertainment for kids?
It looks just like the old show, chat to teams with bent magled robots, watch them randomly bump into eachother.
I'm not really missing a stoned Craig Charles shouting stuff out in his hallucinogenic nightmare.
Just watching a bit of innocent fun.

I'll still watch it next week, but star is a reasonably priced robot needs to go. I guess the

I thought thor was good, first timer 1 man band, had good control etc, shame it failed at the final hurdle.
Some of the bouts were a bit crap but that's how it goes.
Showing my inner geek here, Some of the bouts were a bit crap but that's how it goes.
He is not as first timer, it's a proper oldschool tested and modified robot. originally had pincers and less power but it has won heats before, possibly even got to the semis of one of the series.

I'd go with this. Fox thing was pointless, bad design and bad loser.Thor was a bout the best one there and it wasn't even his hammer/axe that was the crucial item. It was the speed and control given by the stabilised system. He was really accurate with his driving and deserved to do well.
I'm not sure if they are having any wildcard entries this year but Thor should get a shot at the final. Robot was good but the driving was epic.
