Oof - banter is such a toxic term nowadays!
Because it's not always "banter". Generally, the targets of "banter" tend to see it in a less humorous light than those doing the bantering.
That was Beer's intent in its use.
I'm becoming a big Beer fan.

On discussing what Williams meant by saying "I smell a rat" - referring to the BBC Panorama programme.

Williams - "You've said it a couple of times now"
Beer- "I'll say it a third time then".

Brilliant stuff.

Sam Stein KC uses “advocacy like a stiletto in a velvet glove” and he “has an encyclopaedic legal knowledge combined with street wise savvy”.

He got himself in a real muddle - although I can sympathise a bit as these sorts of things sometimes happen when trying to find a single document in a pile of documents.

As are the Solicitors up to and including the Partner who reviewed the newly-qualified Amy's email.

But luckily he didn't see it and can't remember it because he was very busy. FFS.

I suppose incompetence and amnesia is a better defence than admitting criminal behaviour.
