I'm trying, I really am but he's pushing it. Volume control Evans, volume control...

Lasted 20 mins and turned over to Antiques Roadshow. Only lasted that long because I was enjoying looking at Jenson Button's handsome bd face.

Tried again tonight. Nope. Had to switch it over. It is still just too much like they scripted for the old presenters and just asked new ones to read the lines..

I'm still watching, if you can count the tv but my attention is with my mobile phone!
With that I think we should have a nationwide boycott next week, nobody tune in....

A little better this week. The studio bits are as boring as ever, star in a rally cross car was ste as well! It can't have gone above 50mph!

I did like the SUVs in Africa film though, seasick Steve must be hell of a laugh.

I'll probably give next week a go, it can only get better..

4/10 this week.

Indeed much better this week. Still some work to do (Evans can't do 'profound' in the way Clarkson could) but overall if this is the trajectory then maybe the series has legs.

Patchy and very like a new bodied version of the old stuff, but not too bad. Still enjoyable overall. But roll on TGT, I hope that keeps the spirit of the old and the chemistry between the 3.

Agreed that it was much better tonight. Made last week's Reliant film seem even more pathetic.

But I dont think Eddie Jordan is going to bring too much to the programme.

Chris Evans has a hell of a car collection, how did he get hold of one of those maclarens when Jenson hasn't even got one

I quite like the new top gear.... But I wish they told us a little bit more about the suv's.

All I really learned is, the Merc has 9 gears and is slow, the Porsche is quick but I don't know which engine it has and the Jag looks lovely and didn't break.

It doesn't need to be a nerd fest, but a little bit of detail could be added without taking anything away from the show

Interesting that I had my Top Gear Consumer Panel e-mail within 1 minute of tonight's episode ending:

"Hey there,
So the new series has begun and you’ve started to tell us what you think; last week we definitely felt your disappointment so now we want to hear if things have changed."

Well, there were only 3 segments this evening. The McLaren piece would have been better with Chris Harris or Sabine Schmitz rather than the hopeless, shouting and talentless Evans. The South African piece tried too hard to cram so much into such a short time and failed to hold attention in the way that the old TG team's African forays did. The stars and Mini segment was again ruined by the idiot child Evans trying to whip up the audience - and it went on FAR too long.

Evans really must go!

Finally, can we please have something British in Top Gear - apart from stupid Reliant-to-Blackpool level rubbish? Squandering a large budget on pointless foreign adventures is both wasteful and uninteresting....

I've never used fast forward in an episode of Top Gear before tonight. There's a lot that's not good, but the first/best car thing is just unbearable.
