Episode 5... a question I have...

After Eugene gets caught watching Abraham and his missus, the scene goes to Maggie & Glen, and they have a little chat. After this, we see a shot out of the window of the building, and the music changes to suggest something bad/creepy is about to happen, and you can just about make out a shape walking by the window. But it doesn't look like a walker. I watched it about 5 times and still had no idea what we were supposed to be seeing.... anyone shed any light on that?
It's a walker, I can see more than just a shape on my screen. As for why it's there and doesn't attack them - I don't have a clue. That is a bit weird.

I didn't think anything of it, just looked like an establishing shot to me.

They don't move, don't make a sound, it can't smell them so it moves off.

I didn't mind ep 4 at all.

I found this utterly dull till the final 3 minutes

Re Eugene - that's what I expected, but still a bit disappointing from a directionless wandering point of view.

I can't understand why Abraham's wife (that's who I'm assuming she is anyway!) ran off in the flashback - I get that she may have been frightened seeing him beat 4 men to death with only a tin of beans, but I'm assuming that he didn't do that because they were friendly!

So to run away from someone who has shown he can protect them from either zombies or human threats doesn't seem like the most logical choice!

As for Eugene, he seemed to hit the floor hard! It's going to be interesting seeing how/if they get back to the church ok

I had to rewind several times in order to try and understand what Eugene was saying. I gave up in the end.

Otherwise a reasonable episode but nothing really groundshaking.

SPOILER ALERT

I kind of figured Eugene was lying all along. As for Abraham, I suspect that cut on his hand is eventually going to develop into something bad. I think this because they kept showing it and making a big deal about it.

Obvious though really, It's clearly a bad cut and he's not taking care of it at all. He shoved it into the zombie muck in the air intake without a care and dirtied the dressing almost instantly..

He's metaphorically got blood on his hands, murdering the other scavengers in the supermarket over a can of beans.

I still think it works so much better 'Netflix style', i.e. blasting through a series in a few weeks of evenings.

We've done a couple series like that (1 and 4 I think) and a couple 'live', the flow is much nicer when you're rarely more than 45 minutes away from something decent, rather than a week or more.

Season 4 is a good example, we polished that off in just over a week, finishing it the night before the Season 5 premiere. Firstly Season 4 itself didn't feel anything like the utter pain in the arse I imagine it could have watching it weekly, bouncing around the various pathways in one evening (we usually watch 3 per night) made it quite enjoyable. Secondly, after that build up the S5 Premiere pay-off was huge coming straight after it, I still think possibly the single best episode of anything I've watched on TV.

Tempted to let S5 build up on Sky+ and watch them next Autumn, as waiting at least 3 weeks just to get back to whoever is about to come out of the bushes just seems frustrating now, particuarly if we're going to bounce around the different story pathways again with the split groups.

Except he didn't tale the can. He dropped it.

I think there must be more to that than just self-defence

maybe they were begging for help or something

he's clearly losing his marbles now, anyway

Looks like next episode is a 'small group' episode too - Daryl and Carol looking for Beth.

I was thinking that. I like how they omit the details to leave it up to the viewer - perhaps those people were going to kill him and his family or perhaps they were completely innocent and he killed them for their food? We may never know

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure what happened there? at first I thought it was a blowout that caused it to swerve and hit a conveniently placed car (conveniently after a group of walkers despite the rest of the road up till that point being empty).

But then mullet-man admitted to putting glass in the tank, which I can't understand why/how that would cause the accident?
