Homeland (but definitely the original from Israel)
That's "Prisoners of war". S2 starts tomorrow on Sky Arts. S1 was excellent.

Ah, brain fade. Sorry. Glad it's being refreshed as it is brilliant. For anyone who didn't catch the first series it it really is well worth taking the time to find it.

Very different from the US one - a deeper, melancholic slow burner yet one that built drama very effectively, also with some horrific themes/scenes. Haunting to the point I regularly had dreams about it/being in it.

Interesting how the quality of acting comes out in some shows even with the language difference/use of sub-titles, plus I found the language itself and the handling of it by the translators fascinating.

I voted for BoB on Page 1smile

Definitely a couple of dusty-eye moments when watching it.

Have I heard about them making a 3rd one or is that just wishful thinking?

I know this is only a 25 min per episode comedy but you really should watch It's always sunny in Philadelphia. They are about to make the 10th season in the US so it is obviously doing something right. One of the funniest shows I have ever seen.

My list in no particular order.

Sopranos
The Wire
The Shield
Breaking Bad (coming up to the end of season 4)
Oz

K-Ville was ok shame it got cancelled so early on.
Raymond I wanted to like but it took too long to really get going so axed it after 6 shows. It's not slow in the same way The Wire is. Just found it slow to watch.

Firefly - Only one series but one of the best I've seen.

Coupling - Often described as a British Friends, but it's far funnier.

Banshee - A bit low budget and some iffy acting but I love the way the story builds.

Spaced - Very funny, shame there were only 2 series.

Chuck - Comedy, action and Yvonne Strahovski.

The Prisoner - The original 60's series, starts out well but you may need some hallucinogenic drugs to understand the last few episodes.

House - First series is a bit samey but it picks up.

Pushing Daises - Very different, but very good.

Jeeves and Wooster - Fry and Laurie did it so well.

I forget. I liked The Ropes on Netflix. To be fair it's not the greatest of acting but having spent many a friday and saturday night working in some night club or another and found it very easy to identify with the characters and events.

Just tried the bridge and thought it was awful. Maybe I didn't try hard enough to get into it, not that subtitles have ever been a problem for me, but I spied that LA Confidential was on and thought a film I've seen several times was a far better option.

Incredible series.

I firmly believe 'Two Cathedrals' (finale of Season 2) is the finest 40 minutes of television ever made.
