This series continues to get darker.

Yes, that fails/works when the plot demands it.

And in stargate they admit they just dismissed of the language "crap" out of convenience.

Same over here, doesn't really bother me. English is as close to a universal language we have these days and it might be safe to assume that, continuing this path, the majority of the population has at least a grasp of it within 100 years?

Or the fact a space station crash landed on earth without causing too much damage and killing everyone inside? or that of the whole earth they just happen to crash not too far from the '100'!

Yes, I thought that - in the tense bit on the Ark before they attempted the landing, someone asked "how near the kids will we land?" and I was expecting a small attempt at humour where someone replies "well, we'll be on the same planet if that helps", but was disappointed. Still, the 3d map/projection thing seemed to be showing that they would land somewhere in Russia, as the trajectory went around the globe diagram which clearly had America visible.

I'll keep a look out for S2, "in the new year" apparently.

I gave up on this after 2 or 3 episodes, reading the above makes me think I might use it as hungover Sat/Sun viewing if it got better.
