The latest episode was a bit odd. It had a nice easy going feel with that kiwi actor, doing his usual schtick.
In a world of US telly that has HBO and AMC, I don't see how US telly can get away with weak stuff like this though.
Nostalgia?

Yep, so that was the ending huh?

Leaves a lot unanswered, and even adds some new questions, but I wouldn't be expecting anything less wink

Loved it! Loved Rhys Darby in flight of the choncords, perhaps too over-Darby'd but had an old school x-files feel to it. It seems the new series is so marmite, fingers crossed for the rest of the series.

I do like that actor, but it should be fit a sitcom type thing.

Yep, hmmm, I'd be interested to hear what others think when it airs in the uk. To be honest I'm not sure why they bothered.
Episodes 1-3 pretty good
Episodes 4 & 5 poor
Episode 6 disappointing.

There's another thread mentioned in this thread for the American timeline.

Just watched the Muslim terrorist one. Aside from the fact that I had a raging horn from having Lauren Ambrose AND Gillian Anderson in one show, I'd love to see Ambrose and Robbie Amell in a reboot.

God this series is dire.

I really want to like it but it's NOT the x files of old.

I enjoyed the first four, nice range of serious/weird/funny episodes.

Episode 5 was atrocious though - worst hour of TV I have seen for a long time!

Not watched the last one yet.

Odds for a full run of new episodes?

Episodes 1-3 good 4 & 5 total garbage. 6 better, interested to see if they do another series. Thinking they could be setting the 2 young agents up to replace mulder & scully. Definately not as good as it was back in the day though.

I ended up deleting what was left. If they repeat them, maybe I'll give 'em another chance.

I thought part 6 was a bit rushed; all of a sudden the human race is facing wipeout, but with no suspense-filled build-up, just a few lines of exposition by Scully, who almost single-handedly in a few hours manages to sequence her DNA, extract the vital part and prepare an antidote before racing across a traffic-choked city in an effort to save Mulder.

I have the X-Files Series 1-9 on Blu-ray box set, plus the two movies. I like most of the older episodes. But this 6-episode series just seemed a bit off, more like a parody of the old series than a continuation.

Young woman is incredibly annoying, I'd have slapped her by now if I'd have been Scully.
Last night's one was better than previous one, just bugged me that I've now got to wait to see if the world avoids destruction by plague.

Yes the pacing was weird but then again M&S did lose some time out there on the road wink

It was much better. Not a great series to return with, bit of a mixed bag of episodes
1. Reasonable, just enough to keep my interest and hope the series improved
2. Better
3. Awful, I know I'm in the minority with this one as it appeared to get good reviews
4. Not bad, improvement on 3.
5. Average
6. Best of the series

For those missing the original series, they're being shown on Spike, sky channel 160. Tooms is on tomorrow night woohoo
