Why are they wearing hi viz jackets to stand in a field by an empty building, what is going to run them over?
requirement within confines of the site boundry
Let me guess, punitive fines if you don't have one in broad daylight while working indoors on the 5th floor?
no, you just get kicked off site (even if you are the client)

trust me, if you were to go on site you'd want to wear PPE
Why?

I used to work on sites before all this ridiculous Hi-viz malarkey started. The only time i think it is worth putting one on is at night, outside IMO.

I have been in brightly lit warehouses where everyone has to wear them to avoid being hit by forklift trucks, which aren't even allowed to drive down the same aisle as the Hi-viz'z!

Its all gone a bit silly..

Do you reckon the vendor was surprised to find a buyer? biggrin

Fair play to them, they're conserving a rather nice building, but blimey, at some cost.

Because it's OLD, stupid.

Seriously, listing is a disaster, so many beautiful properties in need of loving refurbishment are left rotting away because of the very planning laws designed to save them.

Did you see the one with the castle....the only time I've sen listing back off, all that was left were crumbling walls....it's not a well thought out idea IMHO.

Looks like the rather close neighbours to their million pound house.......

ETA: The rather close neighbours who totally overlook their million pound house.

The only way the project could make financial sense is if they also got those other buildings in that cost and have sold them to the developer for flats or something like that. The buildings are waaay too close to be comfortable for a £1m+ home in the country.

bear in mind when people carry out these builds they don't do it for profit

they intend to live in them for a good number of years

I think the first date shown was Sept 2006, so presumably we're looking at just over 2 years build.
