I'm lucky, I have series 2 and most of 3 and 4 to go through yet. I caught an episode and went off and downloaded a load of them, I think the series is great so far and I especially like that they started off small fighting to make a couple of thousand profit and you can see the business grow! Fair play to the guy, he has a business to grow and to milk the tv thing for as long as possible because his business will be around long after the show gets cancelled.

Disagree, worst episode ever. Toe curlingly cringeworthy, Bandit stuff was almost unwatchable.
Fast-forwarded through most of the dream sequence. The problem is most viewers are idiots so they have to put in silly fake segments like the Bandit dream, rather than have some genuine messing about in cars.
At the opposite end of the scale I've just realised there's a whole load of 'Chasing Classic Cars' being shown that I've not seen - there's a show that I'm surprised ever got made as all the 'characters' are normal guys and there's no dicking about, just genuine enthusiasm.

It's a shame SOME of the dream sequence was actually fun - but 20ish minutes of it??? Was really looking forward to what Aaron was going to say about trying out an LS lump in the T/A too. Overall though that car was terrific (the 17"s were ).
I am curious though didn't they have a similar engine problem (after the rebuild) with the Shelby Hertz, with the SAME engine builder?

A fun episode, very charismatic guys having fun, as long as they don't drift too far into Topgear territory they'll be ok, after all it would be a little dry just watching Arron spannering all show.
But that's why you have Tom I quite liked the little homage to Smokey and the Bandit. It was quite sad seeing Burt like that...but I guess he is in his eighties now, and all those stunts must take a toll on the body.
The car looked great though. Really agressive stance on it lowered like that.

Chasing Classic Cars is a really good show and all the better for eschewing the dicking about in favour of proper content.wolfracesonic said:
I know it's Tv and there may be more to it than meets the eye, but does anybody else think getting $25,000 for Burt Reynolds signature was a bit 'off'? I initially thought RR would donate the money to charity or something like that.
Not really, a bet is a bet. Didn't even cross my mind that he would give it to charity.stephen300o said:

My thoughts exactly.Stopped watching TG some time ago. As long as RR sticks to his word I'm sure the show will stay good entertainment.
Agree with the comments re the wheels, only 17s but looked the bks.

I suspect they did not complete a thorough running-in schedule before hooning/doughnuting/doing burnouts for the camera/etc in the car. Truckosaurus said:

Agreed. That Wayne has a dream job, and a true appreciation for all things automotive. The show has stuck to what makes it good.At the opposite end of the scale I've just realised there's a whole load of 'Chasing Classic Cars' being shown that I've not seen - there's a show that I'm surprised ever got made as all the 'characters' are normal guys and there's no dicking about, just genuine enthusiasm.
I like fast and loud, but I can see it jumping the shark sometime soon.
