Watched The girl with all the gifts, not your usual zombie apocalypse.
And the young girl lead totally makes this film, in no way can it be classed as predictable

Ender's Game - actually enjoyed this. Wan't sure I would. Raises some interesting concepts (as well as a couple of clunky bits)

You're very generous with that score.
I waited for this film to arrive and was disappointed after the initial viewing, but like it more every time I see it.

USS Indianapolis - Men Of Courage

Utterly dire, laughable SFX, I managed 40 mins.

2/10

I watched an Iranian horror on Netflix called Under The Shadow. I thought it was good, and worth watching with in the original language with subtitles rather than the grating US dub.

Although I enjoyed it, I was expecting it to be better, as every movie mag give this a full 5-star review. I cannot help but think that if this were a Western-made film, rather than Iranian, it would have garnered three, rather than five star reviews. Still very much worth watching, though.

Moulin Rouge

Never got round to watching this, mainly because it's a musical and therefore the antithesis of my usual watch, but finally watched it last night and it was amazing! Really enjoyed it. Plus Nicole Kidman is very easy on the eye cloud9

I think Don't Breathe started brilliantly but the last third got a bit weird, still enjoyed it.
Saw La La Land last night, after the first 15 minutes I was a bit bored, bit after that I was utterly hooked. If you want plot, character development, etc then find something else, but as pure escapist nonsense it's brilliant, and I'm not a fan of musicals. A solid 9/10 from me, it does exactly what it sets it to do and nothing more.

Transformers: Extinction.

where can I start? A big bloated mess of a film that would've been too long at 100 minutes at the actually length of over 2.5 hours it felt like someone had let a hyperactive child loose with a wish list having first stocked them up on espressos. 2/10

Oblivion. Tom Cruise sci fi that has some nice plot twists. Not the usual action packed Cruise film and all the better for it. Visuals are very good. Some of the soundtrack is pretty creepy which adds to the atmosphere.

One of my favourites.
The visuals are gorgeous and the story is pretty good too.
Although he does get to ride a motorbike and run around as always.
He plays a maintenance guy looking after a post war desolate earth.
A pretty good maintenance guy looking after a post war desolate earth too.
Until he suffers a crisis of confidence...
