Hopefully a few others in here watch it and give it an ok review.
always happy to have my opinion changed but I found the first one disappointing, a good premis but really badly executed57% on rotten tomatoes doesn't bode well

Rotten apples gave 22% for Need for Speed whereas I thought it was good to just shut off and watch hyper cars racing and some ok car stunts being performed.
Possibly the best interpretation of Sinbad is on tomorrow morning at 6
Douglas Fairbanks, he had twinkly eyes.

Guardians of the galaxy, bloody good fun with some great fx and genuine lol moments 8/10
Enjoyed this one yesterday too. Appropriately silly in places, good casting, the odd good gag, plenty of action and never got bored so quite well-paced.I didn't have particularly high hopes, but would say 'better than expected' - 7/10
Edge of Tomorrow
Look, I know you can criticise any time travel film regarding loopholes but if you just "go with it" it's really bloody brilliant.
It's also hard not to compare every time loop story to Groundhog Day especially as the point is for the characters to use the time to learn and in that respect this is the same, but it was a good story, great representation of aliens, and enjoyable characters.
Cruise is setting the bar for modern SciFi IMO.
10/10 - even better than Oblivion.

I did enjoy this, but wasn't expecting to. But yes, did come across very much like Groundhog Day! Look, I know you can criticise any time travel film regarding loopholes but if you just "go with it" it's really bloody brilliant.

Stayed up late twice this week for The Godfather & Apocalypto. Seen both loads of times, always worth a spin when they're on. One thing I noticed in The Godfather for the first time, when Michael Corleone kills Sollozo & McCluskey there is no music in the background, but the ever louder sound of of a subway train.
Late to the party for sure, but I never spotted that before & it's a very good dramatic device.

Saw Guardians of the Galaxy on Friday, the first scene with the Walkman sets the tone perfectly. As others have said, story is good, jokes are great, laughing all the way through. I'd say it's the best comic book based film that's been released so far. A solid 9/10 for me.
For those of us of a certain age I went misty eyed over the C90 mix tape, resulted in a cracking soundtrack, did chuckle at the final scene toozygalski said:

Just watched "Lost in Translation"
Has anyone on here seen it? Hard to describe it without it sounding like a dreary love film but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanssen play their roles superbly.

Yep. I can't decide if I like this or not though. Nothing really happens and I found the ending to be unsatisfying, that been said it does have Scarlet Johanson. Has anyone on here seen it?
