When I see Greg Wallace now, I cannot get that Micky Flanagan's "Eat well for less" sketch out of my head.

I did laugh when I saw he was at the Ambrosia for Inside the Factory
My Mrs very very nearly had a job there in the marketing division, but she went elsewhere!!!

Never watch him with a straight face again.
That had me in tears reading that thankyou.

The Mash back when it was funny said:
He has his way with each of them in turn before giving comments on texture, warmth and filthiness, while John Torode looks on darkly and does sinister dry coughs.

Maybe I'm too chilled out but I don't get the hate for either.
The F1 section here has a super hate thread about DC. So much vitriol - just seems weird. GW (or DC) have never irritated me in the slightest and I've watched their respective shows for the entire time they've been doing it.

I don't think people really hate him. It's just that these days feelings tend to be expressed in extremes. It's a way of getting attention.

I think maybe you are. I think "hate" is far too strong word for either thread. I think it is more a case that most people who respond to the thread find the person extremely irritating. As you said you don',t so that is fine.

I like the Inside the factory shows but sometimes he does say some random / obvious stuff!

The other week he went to a crumpet factory & was saying, so this is the flour, while standing next a big yellow artic.. the shot panned out and it had flour written on the side of the tanker.

He went on to dump a load of it on the floor as he didn't close a small hatch door properly where the flour was coming from.

Gregg has gone viral this week as a result of his bloody hilarious Partridge-esque article about a typical Saturday in the life of Gregg. Twitter exploded, and for good reason - there is so much to unpack!

I believe Paddy McGuiness is to replace him on Inside The Factory.

I'm not sure if that's worse or better.

Definitely worse

Why do the beeb love to keep rewarding some knobhead like him. Once they get the presenting gig it rolls on, and on, and on

Yes, it's irritating. He's the exact opposite of someone like Fred Dibnah, who visited engineering workshops/ factories and showed quiet appreciation of manufacturing processes with quiet intelligence and a lot of humour. He made it genuinely interesting and was a national treasure. GW et al are not even in the same league.

The missus said he said it this week's Question Time.

And it seems it was announced some time ago:

You have to wonder, as he's just not very good, is he?

Exactly. Wallace and his ilk are merely shallow, attention-seeking actors who revel in their own media exposure. His ‘contribution’ to Inside The Factory is cringeworthy
