Unfortunately for Judi she's now has the clear status of "The contestant who Greg delights in giving one point."

Jesus Titting Christmas, even the other contestants couldn't figure out what Judi Love was playing at on that final live task. Chris Ramsey's face was a picture.

If there was going to be a 'Let Judi win' episode, that was it. And she screwed up.
Well yes, but we still got the "This is a conspiracy and so unfair" face. The ultimate blagger.

On another note, is Bridget Christie really mad as a box of frogs, albeit in a really good way, or like Paul Chowdhry, all a carefully developed persona.

Best thing to stick your finger in, wedding cake.

So Judi ballsed it again in the live task hehe . Last one next week and it's close on points.
WTAF, 5 points for a chess piece with a handle taped to the back, 4 points for a kids bike. FFS, only because the others were so crap. Having said that I have no idea what I would have taken in. Reckon Bridget googled things with a handle, ignored first answer coffee mug as boring, went for second answer, a door. Backfired.

Oh Bridget, Oh Bridget, cup snake, yep you really did, quote, fk yourself, unquote.

Must admit live task, Judi did balls it up, but for the first time felt sorry for her in the particularly cruel way they identified how she could have won this week.

Personally I would have picked a number somewhere between 6 and 12 cans, on the basis that it would definitely have been completed correctly and in time, aiming for the three points as at least two others would screw up and get eliminated.

Alex commented last episode, I think, that they're struggling to come up with tasks.

This series has been a difficult one for me. Just loved Sophie Duker right from minute 1 episode 1 plus she has figured out things that get a laugh and plays up to them later in the series. Clearly very bright, but just prepared to be stupid.

The rest to varying degrees, though do love the way Ardal weighs straight in criticising others but forgets his own input has yet to be judged.

Ramsey lost the plot mid series otherwise would have walked it.

The multitrack song from the girls was I think the only task in the series where I thought someone nailed it from start to finish and deserved a stand up ovation.

Said enough about Judi Love, no change of opinion.

Who else was shouting at the camera during the duck task? Get most in the basket, why start with the largest ducks!

Been a good few quotes this series. Best last night was from Greg to Bridget "When you pulled that basket off I nearly stood up and cheered because this tosspot (Alex) would have to keep cycling round"

I'd agree, but didn't notice him highlight it - what did he say?
Will have another look, on the other hand it may be something from a conversation between Alex and Ed Gamble.

He almost takes it as a point of pride that he comes up with all the tasks himself, I doubt he would publicly announce he was struggling, although I think he did say he was open to collaboration with the international task setters once. It definitely needs something new after however many hundreds of tasks he has set, apparently the New Zealand series had some really fresh and simple ones so it's not like they've exhausted all the ideas.
It comes from something Ed Gamble said on the podcast, seemed to be talking about the prize task section and he said "Alex makes a little joke about running out of ideas" which seems to be his interpretation of Alex saying "You and you alone ie Greg, picked they should bring the best thing with a handle." Audience goes "Ooh" Alex "Well yeah it is episode 9."

On tasks generally, again something from Ed Gamble, in his series 9, he did a task, which wasn't shown, nobody else did apparently, but a modified version appeared as a team task in a later series. He also did the hunting for ducks in the lab task which appeared early in this season, it was one of their stray ducks that one of the contestants found that the team had forgotten about. Maybe we'll see it next week in CofC2. I know others here hate Liza Tarbuck, but hope she steals the show.

Listening to Jack Bernhardt who is the Taskmaster equivalent to Statto, if you remember him from Skinner and Baddiel's Fantasy Football League on BBC2. Jack is officially aka Taskmaster Spreadsheet Wizard.

Anyway Jack was saying that Bridget is THE most inconsistent Taskmaster contestant of all time, finishing either last or first on 61% of occasions. She was last on 30 plus % of the time, which considering that she must be good to be so close to being in contention overall with that many last places.

As always a single episode doesn't really do the format and a set of contestants justice.

Maybe this says more about me than anything but after listening to many hours of Ed Gamble banging on about how he would have done this or that on a particular task and shoe Horne-ing his trophy from series 9 at every opportunity must confess to relishing him absolutely losing his stuffing on the duck task. Though his prize task effort really deserved the 5 points even if it did play into Greg's vanity.

Liza and Kerry are still on my dinner party list, plus it would be amusing to see Gyles' (Brandreth) reaction to the beard if the Tarbuck could be persuaded for a reprise. Sorry, bit off topic our dinner party guest list there. As you were.

Personally didn't care for the seaside paint task, but then that's just my non creative heathen self coming out.

Thought Lou Sanders underperformed, but with just one show her bat st craziness didn't get much opportunity to come out.

Nice one Herring, and he'd toned down the paedo look too.

Also noted Greg's comment about struggling for prize task ideas.

Next series, no idea who will triumph in the various ways that can happen. LoL'd at the above comment about all the Millican haters will come out of the woodwork. They're just so claggy.

I'm not sure Alex Horne is too keen on the CoCs, maybe because the finely balanced casts go out the window and you often end up with many similar people on it. And they already make 22 episodes a year (!) so spending any more time on it would eat into production time on the real series. They wouldn't have, or even really want, to spend time and money making 6 episodes with people who've been on already when that resource could be used to get new people on the show.
You make very good points, especially regarding the balance of casting. Much has been made of how considered it is, in terms of their personalities and what they bring.
Plus with CofC they're dealing with contestants who have been through the mill and are, in theory, prepared for the tricks and mind games. So potentially less chance of complete fustercluck meltdowns. Hello Ed smile

It's not just you. After listening to quite a lot smug podcasting it was a highlight of the episode to watch him totally lose it.

Liza's beard was hilariously bonkers.
Just listened, mostly, to the podcast on CofC2.

It must be said I actually shouted at it when for the umpteenth time Gamble was dissembling about his piss poor performance on the duck into the pond task.

For those who have not yet heard the cast I lost my patience when he actually said "I didn't see the key hanging on the statue, I don't think it was there. Alex will deny it to the day he dies but it wasn't there. I reckon they changed something on the grounds 'Well if Ed Gamble can't do the task' ..." at that point things were drowned out by shouts of fk Off Gamble.

He might just have been trolling but suspect not. Prick.

Promising start. The opening bring a thing round was the best one for several series. I was convinced Munya had already been on a previous series.
Indeed - it was almost like they had all actually made an effort for once.

Munya has to be an early favourite to win for me,
Must admit laughed at the comment saying he'll mention Zimbabwe at every opportunity and sure enough next task. rofl

Someone went to see Millican a few weeks back and commented on the additional timber, didn't appreciate just how much.

First task, was that box almost the size of Dara's actual head?

Contestant Costumes.

Do you think one might get away with going as a member of the Village People? Essentially the Construction Worker complete with toolbelt and some items that might come in handy for odd tasks? Hammer, Swiss Army knife. Tank tape. Pen. Paper. Phone for googling / calculator etc. String. A cricket ball to chuck at Alex when he got too annoying.

They'd probably rule it not allowed / cheating / being too competitive.

That was one of the best episodes in a long long time.

Dara's fury over the numptiness in the live task. Helicopter, he gets another go having said ascend vertically and gets to start it off. Dave Gorman summed it up beautifully in the podcast. Dara tees it up beautifully, it's a cross back from the touch line straight across the front of goal, Fearn then kicks it towards the centre spot, John then trips over the ball and falls on his arse.
rofl

Then there's the discussion about what size of ducks you can buy, which are supposedly only available to purchase from the pharmacy.

More rofl

Eating the flour.

Writing notices in wingdings then forgetting what you've written.

Sides aching by the end.

Well last week's episode was the best in a long while, but beaten by this latest version. Crying with laughter again, even before the first task had finished.

John casually emptying out the bowler hat laugh

Great series so far. Not sure what to make of Fearn's task outfit though!
She used to be a stripper.
Now I have the image of her performing in front of a customer shouting huskily "You taste like salt and petrol" in their face.
Keep going...
John could have got them disqualified by not keeping his hand on her hip but firmly grabbing her arse. Win Win

For those who haven't listened to the podcast John let a spoiler slip for a future episode, though it's not really a spoiler as I think no mention of it will be made in the broadcast show itself.

Regardless.

One task John asked to be given a magic lamp. Presumably on John's behalf that was a bit of a joke as in "Why don't you give me a magic lamp as well then "

So they actually gave him a magic lamp, which John promptly threw away. Seems only he got a magic lamp.

What they didn't say was that if he'd rubbed the lamp the garage door would have swung open to reveal an actor they'd employed for the day. In full genie costume, blue makeup, and the genie would have given him the answers to the task.

Just goes to show how bizarre and devious this show is on so many levels.

Live task so funny. Dara's slow blink of incredulity when Fern says "I think John should do this." rofl

Then Munya's dog impression when he realised he really shouldn't sniff Fern's butt.
