I do hope the studio bits get better.

good programme, but it's safe to say that Jodie Kidd is not a natural tv presenter talking to the camera, she will get better though

not quite as good as Chasing Classic Cars but close and hope that barn find gets rescued and restored in the end.

Nothing new, but still really enjoyed it.

Apart from Jodie speaking so sloooowwwwwllyyyy......

I'm assuming that she started off a bit excitable and nervous and has been told by producers to slow down, but has gone a bit far. Hopefully will improve as she normally comes across as very likeable when I have seen her interviewed in the past.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt irritated by that!

A good show as it concentrated on the cars rather than the 'jolly japes' of Top Gear. I would have liked to have seen under the bonnet of the California (and the ratty old Mustangs). Will definitely watch it again.

I think I know which one thanks.
I said exactly this to my other half. To be honest, I think she was more upset I'd interupted her farm hero game than I was about someone championing the TR bloody 7.

Quentin Willson knows his stuff but can come across as somewhat stern on TV and Jodi Kidd needs to go back to presenting school. The format is good, but they need more depth to their pieces and better production values.

How come QW doesn't look any older now than when he was presenting Top Gear with Clarkson 20 years ago?
Hair dye by the looks of it

Although to be fair it's a small bottle

Not bad, liked the articles about the Mustang, TR7*, old adverts, barn find, Ferrari California. Didn't like QW's interactive screen; rather see a bit of footage of a Bentley Turbo R than a cheesy graphic. Pity the piece about the Z-list celebs was interrupted by a couple of old motors, but hey-ho! Presentation was stilted beyond belief, they need to relax, stop trying to talk in soundbites.

  • poor red-headed stepchild of the sportscar sector. If it had a V8 option right from the start it might have been better received, although that wouldn't have solved BL's problems.

I quite enjoyed it, however somebody posted earlier that this was a show that had been punted around a few channels before C5 picked it up.

To me it had the feel of a pilot episode about it, it will be interesting to see if the content remains as good throughout the series. Also, I'm not sure there will be enough advertising revenue to sustain it in the long run, as it doesn't look as cheap to make as some of 5s other output. Which is a shame as it has potential, it's just I'm not really sure where it's home is.

I got that impression as well. If it lasts more than one series I'll be surprised. Possibly if they linked it up with a 'restoration' programme* it might have legs.

  • but please, NOT with Mawio and Bernie...

Perhaps they could grab that Studebaker, send it to Car SOS, and get them to restore it. Or maybe not.

Not terrible, I'll probably watch it again next week. Certainly not the terrible effort of the last C5 classic programme.

Well it was lovely (mostly) old motors on tv, so I'll watch again. I usually like QW but they both seemed very wooden and forced with little chemistry between them. Will it get better? Remember it was filmed last year so hopefully they improved as they went along.

The interactive screen that QW used to talk about values was just silly CGI gimmicky rubbish. Pointless. Info good, medium pointless. Although those bargains and possible price rises he was pointing out last night were actually...last Summer some time? So they're out of date surely.

Better than I would have thought from C5. Well worth a watch with an ad blocker to skip the junk and shorten it. Hope they don't bother with 'celebrities' as per the fashion bit each week. 7.5 out of 10

We shouldn't complain about programmes that try to cover things we are interested in but have to agree with some of the posts. The presenting is AWFUL! I don't really understand why they had to drag Mr Wilson out. He is mega slimey and just gives everything a dodgy feel. Terrible leg crossing at the beginning like he was busting for a pee! I think to be fair to Jodie Kidd she is probably struggling with having to work with him and that's making her a bit tedious. They should have gone for some fresh blood but probably, mistakenly thought this pair were bankable.

I'm hoping it will get better.

I like the fact that it's a show dedicated to classic cars so I can't complain too much, but like others have said the studio bits were cringy and I'm not a massive fan of QW or Jodie. I did really like the Alex Riley segment though with the TR7 I like his thinking and look forward to see what else he brings.

Overall though I would much rather it be a British equivalent of Chasing Classic Cars, I prefer the format and the fact it doesn't feel as dumbed down.

Nice to see the Studebaker. Always liked the distinctive design of the Hawks. I think it's because it featured in a "... Book of Cars" I had when I was a little kid.

Then I saw one being driven round my home town in the '70s (although that was the base model Flight Hawk with a flathead straight-6), and I found out that the Golden Hawk had a 275bhp 352ci V8... smile
