Trainspotting 2

I wonder if Trainspotting 2 will prompt a reboot of Snatch or Lock Stock? I hope they don't because they were both so good at the time I doubt you could better them.
I think the difference is that trainspotting had a sequel written at the time, I believe prior to the original film's success. Certainly Welsh use the characters in several of his books. So the films are following the author, including in timing, whereas the Guy Ritchie British Gangster films haven't a comparable background and would likely be mere cashing in.

No, it's worse than that... a TV reboot.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5992164/

Keep hoping they'll do the sequel to Layer Cake - Viva La Madness (I know its Matthew Vaughans film) and there was supposed to be a follow up to Rock 'n' RollaHalb said:
I hated the Lock, Stock telly version.
I at the time thought that Snatch was a typical cashgrab sequel to Lock, Stock, it was basically the same film, just more cash. I'd like to watch both now to see how they stack up.
I watched both again recently, I think they were on Netflix.I at the time thought that Snatch was a typical cashgrab sequel to Lock, Stock, it was basically the same film, just more cash. I'd like to watch both now to see how they stack up.
Lock, Stock which I loved back then (and probably saw 2 or 3 times too many) just seems weird these days. I know films aren't really like real life, but it's really odd to me know - it's sort of like a musical, without the music - the characters don't talk, they recite a sort of urban poetry to each other in turn.
Snatch is more standard, but the characters are all a bit too sharp and poetic to be realistic and yeah it's another London underworld farce. Brad Pitt is easily the best actor in it.

T2 is okaaaay. Quite muddled. A bit of nostalgia for them and us. Could've been a lot more.
Just got back from watching. Didn't know what to expect, but I did enjoy it. There's a lot of catching up, as you'd expect, story is a bit hit and miss, imo, Ewen Bremner and Robert Carlyle are brilliant. Don't want to give any spoilers away, so won't say anymore, I think if you like the original, you'll like this, but I don't think it'll have the lastability of the first film. I'd give it 7/10, worth a watch. Gassing Station | TV, Film, Video Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
