I agree they'll feature heavily, but I'm not sure in connection with Dany...
After all, does she need a fleet considering the size and range of at least drogo, and likely the other two once released?
I can see the ironborn becoming entangled once again in the affairs of the North.
Given that she has the unsullied as her army then yes she will need some boats. After all, does she need a fleet considering the size and range of at least drogo, and likely the other two once released?

Theres still abit more of the dorne story to come as well - are allowed to talk about how we think the books now interact with the programme?

If GRRM is really trying to 'change the world forever', the methods have to be different.

GRRM has pretty much announced that there is no end in site for TWOW and is unlikely to arrive this year. I am sure when/if it ever gets published most readers will stick with the series, especially as the show appears to be going in a very different direction to the books.
Well yes and no on that last point. Some show plotlines have wandered wildly from the books and needed to to a large extent due to the large number of plotlines introduced in AFFC/ADWD.
However for all these sprawling fantasy series I always feel that the characters introduced in the first book or two are the most important.
Consider the POV characters in the first book
Ned
Catelyn
Jon
Tyrion
Arya
Dany
Sansa
Bran
The only one who has had ANY significant deviation from their book story in terms of locations and main plot beats is Sansa. Everyone else has kept to the book storylines as close as can be expected in a conversion.
It would not surprise me if the fates of all these characters was already planned in 1990. The story may have grown in the telling but was always heading toward the same destination.
It is perhaps a moot point as I doubt we will see the end in print, but I would be surprised to see massive deviations from the later books for those core characters, except as required to shorten the story on the show.
But I will read them if and when they come in any case.

New Red Priestess, seemingly in Mereen. We saw the Red Priest last night in Mereen, but without much in the way of passioned followers - Varys looks pretty comfy on the throne in the Pyramid, and she's looking damned.... confident!
Wonder what the story is behind this bit of the episode 2 preview-

I'll expect Sansa to send Brienne south to look for Arya considering that's what the chit-chat is about from next week's preview.
Wouldn't she be a bit daft sending away her best protection at the moment?Speaking of which ... who in Westeros is now a better fighter than Brienne ?

Although Bronn should know that she was poisoned!
Surely even a toddler could put 2+2 together to figure out she was poisoned by that woman?Aphex said:

Who was Ramsey fighting? They looked too suited and organised to be Wildlings. Or could it be Ramsey fighting Roose?
From ep 2 preview? I'm expecting Roose to accidentally fall down the stairs anyday now.Mr Snrub said:
An idea I had about Melisandre she looked like she was ready to just give up and die at the end of the episode. Could that magic collar have a similar revering effect on Jon Snow?
The red stone is the basis of her power, it's a glamour magic. She was shocked that Thoros could revive Beric. I reckon she'll try the same thing on JS.Patrick Bateman said:

Tommen coming into his own mind? Maybe influenced by Kevan. Watching S5E10 just before, one can see the puss Kev had when Cersei finished her walk of shame..not impressed. https://youtu.be/uOYTFqUhD9Q?t=5

Cersei has no powerbase without Tom. Kev has CR. ALl she has is her creepy ex-maester and her zombie.

I'd back Bronn to take Brienne to be honest. While she is a good fighter (outstanding for a woman) I suspect that some of her success comes from male fighters treating her as a joke (sexism at work).
All moot though, surely? The script dictates who would be better to suit the narrative..Yeah I think the "who's the best" thing is situation dependent. She beat the Hound when he was starving and malnourished and she won in a 1 to one against someone who was a good jouster. But she wasn't better than pre-injury Jaime Lannister.
I think there's generally classes of fighters and if you're in the top class then any of your peers can have you on a good day, while those below you need numbers on their side. I liked how hard Brienne had to fight for sansa as opposed to the common inverse ninja thing.
