Another who was not impressed with the first episode.

off topic a bit managed to get to the Gas Monkey Bar and grill for some food with the family when in the Keys a few weeks ago

Food was good
I thought it was in Dallas (the grill as well as the shop) - Was I wrong or does he have a few now?

Proper empire building!
Think he opened a 2nd bar so could be that. I wish they drop the whole budget we going bust if we don't sell these cars crap. We all know hes loaded it doesn't ad anything to the show at all.

I fell asleep during that crap last night. I think we had the Harley episode at the same time as the US and maybe with this filler they are now reorganising things to get us a week behind?

And Counting Cars is al half hour episodes where we see sod all car building and too much of Horny bloody Mike. It seems these two shows have run out of steam. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Misfit Garage, another Richard Rawlings vehicle.

In fairness 'Counting Cars' has ALWAYS been like that, I watched the first couple of series, I don't recall much, if any actual car building shown.

What they should do is cut out all the st with Rawlings and give Aaron his own show, just let him show what he wants to. He was at TROG a month or so ago, the impression I got was he wanted to go back with his own car.

At some point in this series they go visit Brian Bass, what goes on in his shop would definitely be worth watching.

I bought a bike from them and thus got to look around the workshop. It's impressive and they clearly do everything on site. Danny has another unit rammed full of cars. Only every now and then do we get a glimpse of that.

No thanks, the show is so successful because it combines the two elements of the business IMO.

I agree. The dynamic of Richard Rawlings (ostensibly extroverted and businessman, but I suspect quite insecure also) and Aaron Kaufman really works. You only need to look at Misfits to see how it doesn't work - Thomas Weeks is a weasley whiney little man and just turns me right off. There is no dynamic at all.

I mean, each to their own and all that, but I think Fast n' Loud works how it is.

The other thing I like is that they can quite happily build the same car again ("We use these parts because we know they work") and it can still work, unlike Wheeler Dealers where they always have to do something new and hence are now running out of ideas.

I like him, in the early series his endless positivity and enthusiasm was a great tonic for all the other types of Bike/Car shows when they're screaming at each other and stressing about made up deadlines and other nonsense like that - although it's dipped it's toe in that sort of thing a few times since.

What I CAN live without is his endless self-promoition, he must have Discovery by the nuts to let him promote bars, booze and t-shirts so much. I just don't care about GM Bar and Grill.

The 2nd episode really annoyed me, they normally save that rubbish for the end of the series. As soon as i realised it was a 'best of' show i turned it off. At least Gold Rush starts again next week (i think)

Sort of, New series started last week, first episode was okay-ish it was a suspiciously low-key episode mostly revolving around Aaron building a Harley Bike, it was okay, not a big money flash bike and they didn't do much to it as I recall. Not that I remember much about it, I say 'suspicious' as it was scheduled to coincide with Discovery's new programme 'Harley and the Davidsons' so it was mostly a promo for that. As was another cynical 'countdown' show of the worlds greatest bikes including most of the Discovery Motors Stars. It's probably on demand if yo have Sky+

The second episode which was on Monday night was horrible, another 'clip show' only this time with fans asking them questions, mostly from the US, but with some Canadians and Brits - it was worse than even their previous clip shows.

It seems to be coming back on form next week.

All of these types of programme seem to follow the same arc.

They start out okay then after a while they turn into soap operas rather than car shows and the businesses in them turn into T-shirt vendors rather than garages.

Very true - I remember Orange County Choppers following that exact arc, culminating in them opening some massive new HQ complete with shop and theme restaurant.
