His presentation style is a bit gangster bruv init!

Why pander to the lowest denominator instead of helping them aspire to better?

But yes still better than Schmeebiggrin

Chris Harris - why? Why do it, he must be mad.
Hi Chris it's your agent, do you want a contract with the BBC for a prime time motoring show on BBC2? Nah mate I'm too busy making you tube clips.

This is a tremendous opportunity for him IMHO, it's not without risk but what has he got to lose compared to the gain in money/public exposure/industry exposure/media contacts he'll make etc....

I think he'll do very well out of this if he can handle the ginger one.

One of the most highest profile jobs in his industry?

Even if it flops he will receive a level of exposure that 99% of journos will never get. I would have thought it would open the door to plenty of other opportunities regardless of what happens with TG

Exactly, a fairly decent car reviewer on youtube and a very good print journalist, although I seem to remember he popped up on 5th Gear for an episode?

Obviously it's for the money but to join this crowd on a new Top Gear is very risky, could even be disastrous. Could quite easily be remembered only for being in the st version of Top Gear.

Anyway, good luck to them all.

Not if it's a complete and utter flop and that's all he's remembered for. On the other hand it could turn out ok, maybe.

Disagree. Who has heard of Chris Harris in the real world? Hardly anyone. Lots will after this.

I don't know what industry you are in but wouldn't you take one of the highest profile jobs in your sector, given what it could do for your profile and the doors it could open in the future, regardless of what happens? I know I would.

The whole lineup reminds me of a horse designed by committee.

I wasn't sure what was speculation and what was true until the BBC gave that update.

I hate being late for anything.

He'll be another Jason Dawe, forever remembered as the bloke who 'wasn't very good' on Top Gear, if remembered at all.

I predict PH meltdown when the first episode airs. Will the servers cope?

I'm with Oddball on this one - Always with the negative waves..... hehe

I can't see how it could be bad for Chris Harris really. If it flops then he's still a well renowned journalist, with the You Tube followers he had before + plus some more due to his exposure on TG. If it's a success then the only way is up. In fact the only down side could be if TG is a real success but he isn't involved with subsequent series, but even then he hasn't lost out on anything.

As for the lineup I think it should provide a good show (mostly). I can imagine Chris, Matt, Chris and Sabine being quite good together. I have no idea about "Gangsta Hands" as i've not see any of his clips, and lets hope Eddie is kept in his "Motorports Broom Cupboard" and isn't allowed to argue with the rest of the team during the show wink

I thought that the Eddie Jordan rumour was just a bad joke but as he's been confirmed as part of the team I'm out.
7 too many?

Presumably that depends if he's any good or not?

He might be remembered as the one good thing about TGITG...

Jason Dawe is unfortunately remembered as 'that bloke who only lasted one series on Top Gear and was booted off before it became the giant that it did', much like Blackburn being the first team to win the Premier League and forgotten about ever since.

If the new series flops then I don't think Monkey will suffer as he is down the pecking order of 'faces' on the new 'Chris Evans's Top Gear' and would soon return to where he came from, albeit with a bit more money.

Blackburn weren't the first team to win the Premier League.
