....someone explain, is the presenter on drugs? is this a serious cookery contest or a pcensoreds take?

The presenter massively over hypes every action a cook does...
"LOOK AT HIM CUT THAT ONION!!!!"........er he cut it in 1/2 and then 1/4s??????? confused

and his entire head appears to be made from Marzipan.

So someone please help....

I gave up trying to watch this after about five minutes. At a guess, would say 'it worked in the USA so we'll give it a go here' format. Atrocious rubbish!

I like not his style of presentation. I have shouted at the telly, shout "CALM DOWN SON. YOU'LL GIVE YOURSELF A STROKE!"

Description says it's originally a Japanese format show.

Japanese shows are always better even if we don't understand a word of it biggrin

Endurance, Takeshi's Castle, even their original version of Hole in the Wall was brilliant.

I used to watch the original Japanese show when I lived in the US. It was shown on Food Network over there and was very enjoyable. The dubbed translation even added an element of humour as they reminded me of the cheesy Kung Fu movies I loved as a child.

Then someone at Food Network got greedy and decided to make a US version and it all went downhill. Not even the importation of Iron Chef Morimoto could help it.

Presenter is usually one of the wine experts on Saturday Kitchen, he's always come across as a bit "out there", if anything he was toned down on Iron Chef when I saw it tonight.

He felt Anne Robinson's boobs on TV once though so he's probably slightly mentally scarred.

Crap fact number 1 - Olly used to be a choir boy and his parents thought he would be the next Aled Jones - right until his balls dropped

Crap fact number 2 - his slightly more talented older brother William is a stand-up comedian who introduces himself as Will "no, not that one" Smith.

We grew up together here in Jersey.

And yes, he is a tt

Sorry, but I see Olly Smith with a Conservative rosette doing some door to door canvassing - Cannot help it, sorry smile

I Sky+ it and thought it was a truly dreadful programme. Over excited presenters with irritating amateur zoom in zoom out hand held poor focusing style to try and give it that 'urgency' look.

Plus where the presenters payed each time they said 'Iron Chef'?
