The bbfc have decided the film represents a "real risk" to cinemagoers and refused it an 18 certificate

Presumably they think it is likely that someone will watch the film and then go out and make a human centipede themselves .. before wrapping some barbed wire around their penis and violating the centipede as is also portrayed in the film hehe

Thank God the bbfc have taken this action, because as we all know once they have banned a film it is completely impossible to watch it.

Good idea.

I haven't seen the first film, it didn't get any reviews to suggest it was anything else other than some guy trying to just gross people out, and the second one just goes further.

Unfortunately they can't ban all bad films, but it's nice when there is another reason to do so.

Quite enjoyed the first one in a WTF?confusedeek kinda way, it wasn't too explicit and the Dr. was pretty creepy, and it left me thinking euugghhhh!! Imagine being in that predicament. biggrin

This I'd imagine will be trying too hard just to be nasty and gross people out, and by reading the link it seems that's just what they've tried to do.

Wouldn't watch this for the same reasons I'd have no interest at all in watching A Serbian Film. Can do without ste like that to be honest.

A Serbian Film is actually hilariously bad.

The film was never submitted for classification for cinema release, only for dvd.

I wonder if the Guardian bothered to read the whole of the BBFC press release?

I don't see what was so shocking about the first to be honest, it was awful but not exactly horrific to watch.

Very little, which is why the huge furore that greeted initial synopses died rapidly away once people got chance to see the film. They discovered it was a fairly pedestrian, and not especially graphic, ordinary little horror film.

The sequel seems to be a different kettle of fish, from the BBFC release.

I don't expect I'll watch it - I only saw the first when it surfaced on telly.

Although I did make the effort to source a dvd of Grotesque, which was the last film the BBFC saw fit to refuse classification.

The first one was a crap film and the actors were paid so poorly they ended up living from arse to mouth for the rest of their lives.

Not really.

I did a thorough review on another website when I watched it.

For the most part the Saw films have just devolved into an attempt to gross people out, the storyline is generally minimal. Yet none of those have been banned, even though they're crap and gross.
