BBC climbing great programs (why is ITV dire)

A lovely little series hidden away in the BBc schedules

But one surprise is it was made by ITV

So why is ITV got such dire programming if they can produce something like this series?

When it was originally shown it was on BBC2 at (I think) 6:30 in the evening and received very little publicity.

My daughter worked on it and being a surveyor I had something of technical interest. I thought it was unusual and interesting. I actually thought it was made by an ITN production company but I may be wrong.

Much of the BBC output is made by independant companies now. It is a feature of the simple awfulness that is ITV that these things get shown by the BBC.

If you get a chance, watch it as whilst it's not perfect it has some wonderful segments.

This was very enjoyable, as was the similar series with Kevin Mccloud in which he climbed Trellick Tower.
