I can't recall any feature films about either the life of Nelson or about Trafalgar. I am just reading a biography of his life and deeds and it seems to me to have all the ingredients for a stonking feature film. There's heroism, battles, innovative strategy, a failed marriage, love affairs, fighting ships under sail etc etc. I just think this would be a great movie. Why hasn't it been done? If anyone has the ear of Steven Spielberg or similar please pass this on!!
Must have a British scriptwriter and a Brit cast though (although one of the Captains at the battle of the Nile was American). If the Americans liked Robin Hood enough to make several films about him I reckon Nelson would go down a storm stateside.
